Role Summary
We are seeking a Patient Assistance Advocate with experience supporting patients through
financial assistance enrollment, benefit navigation, and medication access workflows. This role
requires strong customer service skills, experience working in Epic, and the ability to collaborate
across clinical, operational, and technical teams. The Advocate will also help train customers
and internal teams on Cinnamon workflows to ensure effective product adoption. The ideal
candidate is passionate about patient advocacy, education, and improving access to care in a
dynamic startup environment.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Financial Assistance and Access Support
● Guide patients through enrollment in manufacturer assistance programs, foundation
support, copay programs, and related financial resources
● Gather required documentation and ensure accurate, timely submissions
● Work with pharmacies and providers to reduce delays and support timely medication
access
Epic and Workflow Execution
● Use Epic to review insurance details, benefits, medication orders, and relevant patient
information
● Document all enrollment actions, patient interactions, and workflow outcomes in
Cinnamon systems
Customer Service and Patient Advocacy
● Provide empathetic support to patients by addressing questions, concerns, and access
barriers
● Communicate clearly with patients, caregivers, and clinical staff to ensure understanding
and support
Training and Customer Enablement
● Support training and onboarding for customers using Cinnamon's patient access tools
● Educate customer teams on documentation needs, workflow best practices, and product
use
● Assist internal teams in understanding patient workflows to ensure consistent product
usage
● Contribute to training materials, guides, and workflow documentation that improve
customer adoption and satisfaction
Collaboration and Cross Functional Support
● Partner with engineering, clinical teams, pharmacies, and payer partners to support
seamless workflows
● Identify opportunities to improve patient support and training processes and provide
actionable feedback
Compliance and Quality
● Maintain adherence to payer requirements, regulations, and internal policies
● Stay informed on changes to financial assistance programs, insurance requirements,
and medication access practices
Required Qualifications
● 2+ years of experience in patient financial assistance enrollment, medication access, or
related patient support roles
● Experience working in Epic within clinical, pharmacy, financial assistance, or patient
support workflows
● Strong customer service and communication skills with an empathetic approach
● Understanding of insurance benefits, copay programs, and financial assistance
processes
● Experience supporting training, education, or workflow onboarding for customers or
internal teams
● Strong analytical and problem solving abilities with high attention to detail
● Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EHR systems
● Ability to work effectively in a fast paced startup environment with adaptability and
initiative
● High school diploma; associate or bachelor degree preferred
● Pharmacy Technician experience preferred but not required
Preferred Qualifications
● Experience in technology enabled patient support environments
● Familiarity with prior auth platforms such as CoverMyMeds, PromptPA, or Availity
● Experience with healthcare financial counseling or patient advocacy programs

A Brief Overview
Responsible for assisting the physician in caring for the patient and family in accordance with organization's protocols, policies and procedures.
Essential Functions
Assists in the assessment of the health status of individuals including the delivery of patient care to patients and families under the direction of RN or LPN. • Demonstrates knowledge and delivers suitable care tailored to the corresponding stage of the life cycle. • Prepares patients for examination by performing routine patient screenings. • Communicates completion of tasks, and significant abnormalities or clinical changes. • Documentation is accurate, per clinic standard, and completed in real time. • Assists providers with exams when necessary. • Collects phlebotomy and other lab specimens based on department need. • Performs treatments, procedures, diagnostic/lab testing per protocol and/or order. • Performs medication administration specific to area of assignment. • Facilitates registration and utilization of organization's health portal with patients and families. • Performs other specialty tasks/procedures specific to area of assignment. • Assists with medication refills based on protocol in specific specialty area. • Communicates in a compassionate manner and uses medical terminology appropriately. • Complies with performance improvement practices. • Facilitates patient flow in clinic by monitoring patient volumes throughout the clinic day. • Uses good time management and creative thinking when clinic is busy; ensuring patients are informed of any delays. • Offers resources to patients and families, such as toys, coloring, etc., while in the exam room. • Ensures exam rooms are clean and ready for the next patient, using the proper disinfectant between patients. • Maintains supplies in exam rooms and re-stocks items as needed. Collects data regarding patient's vital signs and growth and development when interviewing patients/families in the office. • Coordinates the scheduling of diagnostic tests and procedures with the patient/family, physicians/hospitals and the insurance companies as directed by the provider. • Assists the physician or nurse practitioner in patient teaching as directed or according to clinic protocol. • Completes all required patient care documentation and reporting in accurate and timely manner within the electronic medical record. • Responds appropriately in crisis situations or life threatening emergencies. • Takes direction from the physician or nurse practitioner in the delivery on patient care. • Assists with clerical duties as directed by the office manager.

Essential Job Responsibilities
Administer medications accurately and at appropriate time according to physician and resident service plan.
Document medications administered and those not given according to regulations and policies and procedures.
Monitor health, safety and well-being of the residents.
Document information pertaining to changes in resident's functional status, personal needs, appointments, vitals, etc.
Complete incident reports and documentation on resident's record.
Respond to resident emergencies; provide first-aid assistance and arrange for appropriate medical attention/follow-up.
Report concerns about residents to Resident Care Coordinator/Director of Nursing and/or Executive Director.
Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, eating, personal hygiene and mobility.
Assist residents with oxygen and other medical problems outlined in the assistance plan.
Assist with resident laundry, daily bed making, and serving meals, as requested.
Identify supplies needed to perform tasks and report needs to DON
Encourage socialization among residents and promote activities, assisting with activities as requested.
Chaperone activities outside the facility when requested.
Maintain a safe, home-like, and pleasant environment for residents.
Practice safety in working around and with equipment, chemicals, tools, and utensils.
Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings and in-services
Report on-the-job injuries to the supervisor before the end of the work shift on the day the injury occurs.
Maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to residents, facility operations and personnel.
