Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests. Develops and implements appropriate treatment plans based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings. Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures. Consistently provides high quality and timely documentation including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes and discharge summaries. Performs bedside procedures as appropriate to the patient?s clinical needs. Practices cost effective medicine in an efficient manner, maximizing available resources. Discusses patient data with other physicians and healthcare professionals as appropriate in a multidisciplinary setting. The Boston Children's Hospital Dermatology Program provides care for children and adolescents with all forms of congenital and acquired disorders of the skin, nails, hair, and mucous membranes. The primary goal of the medical scribe is to reduce administrative burden on the physician, improve accuracy/timeliness of medical documentation, and optimize provider ability to spend more time interacting with patients.
