SUMMARY OF DUTIES The Mental Health Professional (MHP) provides services for individuals and their families in the home, school, and community, which are designed to, (1) ensure safety and stability of the child to promote successful functioning in the home, school and community; (2) avert treatment in a residential or inpatient setting; (3) facilitate an earlier return of individuals receiving inpatient or residential care; (4) strengthen family functioning; and (5) assist students in achieving optimal benefits from their education. The MHP will also coordinate delivery of clinical services to children and families with other team members and community providers. EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS Masters' Degree from a school accredited by a recognized accrediting agency. Requires knowledge of an advanced type. The nature of this position requires the incumbent to be on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Verification of licensure/certification will be required at time of appointment/hire, and continued employment is contingent on maintaining licensure/certification.
