MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree from accredited college or university in social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, mental health counseling or other closely related field, and Licensed as a Certified Social Worker (LCSW) in the State of Utah.
Preference given to those with at least four (4) years of experience in a child related setting, with one (1) year of experience working with child victims, and one (1) year of counseling experience with youth.
Required to successfully complete 40 hours of evidence-based trauma-informed training within six (6) months of hire according to national accreditation standards.
A valid Driver's license issues by the State of Utah is required to operate a vehicle.
Due to the nature of this position, the successful applicant must successfully pass a criminal background check as well as every two years thereafter and continuously meet the requirements of the Bureau of Criminal Information (BCI).

Maintains the program treatment provider linkage agreement partnerships with community based mental health agencies and collects required documentation to fulfill national accreditation standards.
Completes annual training and clinical supervision requirements for licensure and national accreditation standards.
Implements data entry, required documentation, and various reports.
Keeps manager informed and makes recommendations to improve mental health services.

The outpatient Therapist is a licensed mental health professional who provides therapeutic services for Davis County children and youth who are experiencing a variety of behavioral and psychiatric symptoms.

Essential Job Functions
Essential duties assigned to the Youth Outpatient Therapist include, but are not limited to the following:
Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and diagnosis as appropriate.
Develop individualized treatment plans consisting of mutually agreed upon goals and objectives and update as needed.
Provide individual, family, and group therapy using evidence-based interventions to decrease symptoms and improve functioning.
Maintain clinical documentation as required by agency standards.
Coordinate with other staff and community agencies as needed to provide effective care.
Participate in weekly staff meetings and regularly scheduled supervision.
Must meet agency productivity standard.
Other duties as assigned.
Compensation
This position is classified as full-time, exempt. This position is eligible for a hybrid base rate salary plus incentive model if the candidate is interested.
Base Rate
The base rate for fully licensed clinicians is calculated with a starting annual rate of $77,000 plus credit for years of full-licensure experience as defined below:
$77,000.00 to $88,000.00 per year is the approved base rate range
1% per year for each year of full licensure
$3,000 Spanish-language incentive annual stipend (paid bi-weekly) available. Must pass a Spanish assessment.
The compensation for under licensed clinicians (CSW, ACMHC) is $67,000.00 per year.
Incentive Payment Option
DBH has implemented a salary + incentive model to help improve access to mental health services. Employees who choose to participate in this compensation model will receive a per service incentive for all direct service hours provided during each pay period at the following rates:
$45 per service for services 49-60 in a pay period
$50 per services for all services 61 and beyond
Clinical documentation for all services completed during each 2-week pay period must be completed no later than 12:00 am on the Monday following the end of a pay cycle to receive payment for services provided during the period. While this program is designed for clinicians working in an outpatient mental health program, clinicians who are interested in participating in this program may develop and present a plan on how they can help improve access and have it reviewed by their Program Director and the DBH Clinical Director for approval. Certain positions at DBH may not be approved for this position due to the nature of their core job and the essential duties assigned to that position.
Schedule & Location
The Children, Youth and Families Mental Health Therapist is a full-time position and is normally assigned to weekdays. This schedule may require two evenings per week. DBH reserves the right to require overtime, weekend work, and/or assignment to evening or night shifts, depending upon operational need, some in and out of state travel may be required.
The Bountiful outpatient clinic located at 150 North Main Street, Suite 101, Bountiful, UT 84010.
Qualifications
The Children, Youth and Families Mental Health Therapist must fulfill the minimum required qualifications:
Master's degree in social work or related field. Current licensure in the state of Utah as an LCSW or equivalent (if under licensed, must work towards obtaining full licensure). Must have relevant experience in the behavioral health field.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Mental Health Counselor will be responsible for performing psychotherapy services including assessment, treatment plan development, crisis and discharge planning as well as individual, group and family counseling for clients. The Mental Health Counselor prepares, reviews and signs all clinical documentation promptly. They will also act as a clinical consultant to the treatment team as indicated and will collaborate with outside agencies as required in delivering services. JFS is looking for a counselor who enjoys working with children as a part of their caseload.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide psychotherapy specific to the clients identified treatment needs through individual, child, family or group therapy. This could include, but not be limited to, trauma-focused treatment, CBT, play therapy and other evidenced-based treatments
Provide client advocacy and assistance when appropriate to the clients clinical progress
Ensure that each client has appropriate clinical documentation, including but not limited to, clinical assessments, individualized treatment plans, progress notes, crisis plans and discharge plans
Meet treatment standards as specified in contracts or special grants, and agency protocols in terms of timeliness of service, number and duration of services provided, and timeliness of paperwork and reporting completion
Adhere to agency protocols, legal and contract requirements, and professional standards regarding documentation and electronic record keeping
When clinically appropriate, advocate and assist clients in seeking other appropriate services or supports in the community
Collaborate with outside agencies when necessary for the treatment of the client
Attend weekly supervision as directed by Director of Clinical Services
WORK HOURS, SCHEDULE & FLEXIBILITY
This position primarily works traditional office hours to meet the needs of the agency

REQUIREMENTS
Master's degree in counseling, social work, marriage and family counseling, or related behavioral health field
Must be licensed in the State of Utah at the associate level or eligible for state licensure (i.e., demonstrate having passed the licensure exam or approval by the Utah Board of Behavioral Health to take the licensure exam) at the time of hire and obtain licensure within six months of hire
Ability to work in a multi-cultural and multi-language environment and be able to work through translation services if not fluent in a second language
Must be able to work in a team approach and value collaborative partnerships with families and professionals equally
Ability to pass a background check and obtain a Level 1 fingerprint clearance card
Valid Utah drivers license
