The days of work are primarily Sunday through Friday. Staff are expected to stay overnight throughout the summer. Staff receive a two-hour break Monday-Thursday. Staff will have housing and food provided during working hours. Staff will be expected to work a few Saturdays during the summer. Staff will receive 24 hours off once a week. The Shelter Navigator is responsible for ensuring that survivors of domestic violence, intimate partner violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and stalking and their children have access to crisis hotline and/or shelter on 24-hour per day basis. This is a fulltime varied shift position (may be any hours on 2nd -3rd shifts), days off will vary and the role is not a traditional 8-5 administrative position. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Respond to crisis service requests including in-person, phone calls, web-based communication and messages made to YWCA 24-hour crisis services and screen all communication for immediate needs and provide supportive listening and service linkage. Assess potential shelter clients for eligibility and provide alternate options for those who cannot be accommodated. Provides support in shelter to ensure 24-hour coverage; including, intake paperwork, general shelter oversight, and other duties as needed. Completes and maintains all relevant documentation including intake packets, call logs, and hotline contact sheets.
