As a Lead Network Test Engineer, your duties and responsibilities will include: Design, execute, and document test activities for network equipment, services, and applications deployed within the Brightspeed production network. Participate in the evaluation, certification, and approval of new features and products through formalized testing prior to production deployment. Participate in operational assessments of First Office Applications (FOA). Perform high-level analysis to identify and resolve unique, complex, or chronic issues across Metro Ethernet, Access, Voice, Transport, and CPE networks. Provide technical leadership and direction in the resolution of defects related to peripheral network elements, applications, and situations involving malfunction, degradation, or service failure. Serve as a subject matter expert in hardware, software, and database operations across multiple telecom network platforms, including XGS-PON, Fiber Voice, Metro Ethernet, and Transport. Act as a subject matter expert in at least one deployed Brightspeed technology domain: Transport, Metro Ethernet, Network Access, or Customer Premise Equipment (CPE). Review software release documentation prior to platform upgrades; participate in supplier and/or Brightspeed lab regression testing; and lead successful software upgrade deployments across network elements and platforms. As a Lead Network Test Engineer, your duties and responsibilities will include: * Design, execute, and document test activities for network equipment, services, and applications deployed within the Brightspeed production network. * Participate in the evaluation, certification, and approval of new features and products through formalized testing prior to production deployment. * Participate in operational assessments of First Office Applications (FOA). * Perform high-level analysis to identify and resolve unique, complex, or chronic issues across Metro Ethernet, Access, Voice, Transport, and CPE networks. * Provide technical leadership and direction in the resolution of defects related to peripheral network elements, applications, and situations involving malfunction, degradation, or service failure. * Serve as a subject matter expert in hardware, software, and database operations across multiple telecom network platforms, including XGS-PON, Fiber Voice, Metro Ethernet, and Transport. * Act as a subject matter expert in at least one deployed Brightspeed technology domain: Transport, Metro Ethernet, Network Access, or Customer Premise Equipment (CPE). * Review software release documentation prior to platform upgrades; participate in supplier and/or Brightspeed lab regression testing; and lead successful software upgrade deployments across network elements and platforms. * Engage directly with manufacturer and supplier technical support teams to troubleshoot and resolve platform or application failure conditions. * Collaborate closely with Network Architects to define test requirements, resolve defects, and address operational solution gaps. * Engage with manufacturers, suppliers, industry partners, and standards organizations to identify and evaluate new products and technologies for deployment within the Brightspeed network. * Maintain a consistent on-site presence at the Brightspeed Lab as required to support testing projects and daily work activities. * Document, track, and provide regular updates on all test activities, including results, risks, and remediation actions, and develop and maintain detailed test plans to support network certification and deployment efforts. Qualifications WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE * Extensive knowledge and experience in the network architecture of one or more of the following technologies: Metro Ethernet, Network Access, CPE, Fiber Voice or Transport network systems. * Subject matter expert on one of the following platforms: Ethernet routers / switch, XGS PON network equipment, Transport equipment / or CPE testing. * Working knowledge of Atlassian JIRA * Ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the business, i.e., suppliers, executive, market unit, technology group, cross-functional work groups, and industry entities: oral, written and presentation skills including Microsoft Office * Telecom Lab or Datacenter support experience. * 4-year degree in Engineering, IT, or Telecommunications field or equivalent work experience * Prior experience supporting Transport, CPE, Metro Ethernet or Customer premise equipment * Hands on experience cabling, installing and turning up network devices or OSP equipment. * Willingness and ability to work in the office during our core operating of Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm.
