The NICU is supported virtually by subspecialists with 24/7 access to echocardiography, EGG, and MIR interpretation. The unit also provides the only neonatal transport service in the mid-Hudson Valley region. Neonatologists are teamed with neonatal physician assistants and nurse practitioners to provide coverage of the NICU following an in-house coverage model. Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck, and Putnam Hospital in Putnam, are Level I nurseries with 24/7 staffing by advanced practitioners and an out-of-house coverage model for physicians.
