Responsibilities:
CNA Trainee
As a CNA trainee, you will assist with day-to-day activities in providing support to residents, nursing assistants, housekeeping, culinary, and activities staff in order to provide high-quality care
Assist the nursing team with serving meals, snacks, and fluids (not providing care)
Ensure rooms are cleaned, organized, and sanitized
Assist housekeeping and nursing staff with preparing rooms for new admissions
Make beds- ensure resident call lights are easily accessible
Stock resident rooms with wipes, clean washcloths, clean towels, gloves, etc.
Answer call lights, serve residents, and report to qualified staff if necessary
May transport residents (to and from meals or activities) per community/state regulations
Pick up dirty trays, glasses, and utensils from resident rooms and dining areas

Job Details

Organizational Function and Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for Lab and Clinical instruction in the Nursing Assistant program at the college level. This includes implementing a relevant and progressive curriculum, designing, and implementing effective learning strategies and environments, delivering instruction of high quality, assessing student learning, supporting students, and participating in limited college service activities at the department, division and college levels.
A variety of schedules exist, including weekdays, weekends, and evenings. Laboratory experiences are scheduled a total of 25-clock-hours, with most shifts between 3 and 6 clock hours. Clinical experiences are scheduled a total of 24-clock-hours, most scheduled as 4, 6, or 8 clock hour shifts. Lab and clinical shifts longer than 4 hours are scheduled to include breaks.
This position reports to the Associate Dean - School of Nursing.

1. Responsible for hands-on instruction in the Nursing Assistant program laboratory and/or clinical experiences.

About the Opportunity
The Medication Aide administers prescribed medications and treatments to residents who need assistance in accordance with state regulatory stipulations and requirements for safe administration. Observes the resident taking the medication, notes effects including any unexpected or adverse effects, correctly documents the required information in the residents' medication administration records, communicates any concerns or observations with the Wellness Director, Wellness Coordinator or designated personnel. The Medication Aide also supports residents with activities of daily living including personal hygiene, socialization, cognition, and physical health. Encourages resident independence, supports resident choice and preserves resident dignity through professional conduct and interactions.
Critical Success Factors
Successful completion of medication assistance training in compliance with the state's regulatory requirements and facility requirements.
Maintains up-to-date medication certification requirements according to state regulations.
Compassionate and empathetic in personal interactions.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
