Job Skills / Requirements HIRING IMMEDIATELY Sunstates Security is currently hiring Flex Security Officers for all shifts in the Lafayette, Indiana area. These positions offer a pay rate of $18.50/hr - paid weekly. Must regularly stand or walk for extended periods of time and distance. Must always be accessible for phone communication. Mentally analyze a situation, solve problems, and make decisions under pressure in the area of responsibility. Willing to work in all weather conditions. Flex Officer Explanation The Flex Officer position is crucial to our company's operational and financial success. The flex officer provides trained, competent support by working shifts which become open due to illness, call-offs, weather, vacation, or other causes. This enables Sunstates to provide continual, uninterrupted service to our customers, while also protecting the health and work balance of our personnel. Scheduling Expectations The scheduling parameters and expectations for a flex officer are different from those of an employee assigned to a fixed post. As a flex: You will be trained at various posts and /or facilities based on operational need. While you may work at a specific post or location for several weeks due to need, this will not be a permanent assignment. Your schedule (shifts, days off, hours per week, etc.) will vary based on operational need. You will be assigned to, or offered the opportunity to accept, shifts as they become available due to staffing needs. Some of your shifts will be scheduled in advance and posted with the new week's schedule. Sometimes you will be called with short notice and asked to come in to cover for someone who is unable to work their shift. You are expected to work any shift for which you are scheduled in advance which falls within the availability described on this sheet. If you know you will be unavailable on an upcoming date or time that would normally fall within your availability described on this sheet, you must communicate this with your supervisor, so they know not to schedule you. For short-notice call-ins, you are expected to work at least 80% of the shifts for which you are called. Job Description Responsible for providing for the safety and security of guests, employees, and property and company assets. Circulate through hotel, casino, and outdoor areas looking for possible disturbances, illegal activity, or safety hazards and take appropriate action. Patrol will require circulating on foot, and/or Company supplied bicycle and/or vehicle. Respond to emergencies in accordance with all applicable laws and company and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the security of all keys. Complete requisite paperwork related to shift activities. Other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications Must be at least 21 years of age. Must be able to stand and walk for the duration of a normal shift. Other physical requirements include but are not limited to: lifting, reaching, kneeling, bending, and episodes of moderate to strenuous physical exertion. Prior experience in casino security (or similar field) preferred. May be required to possess a valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable to the Company and/or its insurers.
