The Security Assistant will provide continuous security support to ensure the safety and integrity of all personnel, assets, and operations within the contracted area. Key Responsibilities: Protection and Surveillance: Guard and protect all government personnel, information, documentation, materials, buildings, equipment, property, and operations from unauthorized access, theft, and/or sabotage. Monitor all entry and exit control points into classified spaces within assigned facilities. Conduct continuous surveillance to detect and respond to security breaches. Access Control: Implement and manage all access control procedures at entry desks, including the identification and verification of personnel and visitors. Issue appropriate badges to personnel and visitors after thorough review of visitor requests and applicable background information in accordance with established procedures. Perform 100% hands-off inspections of all hand-carried items at entry points to ensure prohibited items are not introduced to or removed from the facility. Emergency Response and Incident Management: Respond to and assist Government and Contractor employees, visitors, and emergency response personnel during security and safety-related situations. Cooperate with investigative agencies and law enforcement in connection with potential or suspected violations of law against the Government, including preserving evidence in accordance with established procedures. Assist in preliminary inquiries related to the loss or theft of Government and personal property, and other security incidents within their areas of responsibility. Monitor and respond to security alarms from intrusion detection systems and other protection devices. Facility Monitoring: Monitor fire protection systems and ensure unrestricted access by the Fire Department and medical teams. Respond to building conditions and alarm systems such as gas, fire, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning. Report incidents to required Government personnel and local off-site agencies when necessary.
