All positions require climbing onto the tops of barges (height of approximately six feet), opening and closing barge

frequently required to climb ladders and steps a distance of up to 25 feet and walk long distances throughout the

Working areas are tight, enclosed, and do not allow a great deal of space from time to time. All positions require
effective eye-hand coordination to perform detailed work. All employees must be able to wear personal protective
equipment including a life vest, safety shoes, clothing, dust mask and hearing protection.
Working conditions are frequently dusty with heat and cold extremes according to season. Work surfaces may be
slippery and hazardous from time to time. Persons must be able to hear safety signals (such as horns, whistles, and
the human voice), and be able to read and understand safety manuals and other written material such as labels,

The position requires effective written communication in order to complete required daily reports. Effective verbal

Overview:
The Corporate General Manager - Distressed Location Evaluation & Correction role is responsible for driving performance turnaround at underperforming retail RV and fleet locations. This position develops and executes strategic sales initiatives, identifies operational inefficiencies, and implements corrective action plans through hands-on leadership and training. c. Advise and direct the Union County Board of Commissioners, when requested in writing, as to the best methods of construction, repair or maintenance of township and district roads.
d. Prepare or cause to be prepared all maps, plans, specifications and estimates of costs needed in order to comply with the provisions of Section 6-701.1 of the Illinois Complied Statutes.
e. Supervise the construction and maintenance of all county highways within the county.
f. Keep and maintain adequate records and books of all recipients, contracts, purchases of materials, machinery or apparatus to be used in road construction to verify disbursements of funds and make available to Auditors.
g. Act for the County in all matters relating to the construction and maintenance of county unit district roads.
h. Perform other lawful duties as may be prescribed by law or as may be required or directed by a majority of the Union County Board of Commissioners (Fuel System, Building Permits, Flood Plain Manager, etc).
i. Maintain any all qualifications, certificates and/or licenses as are necessary to fulfill duties and receive any all additional training or education as is required by law.
j. Engineer will have authority, subject to compliance with any collective bargaining agreements, and County directives, to determine overtime for employees, purchase parts for Highway repairs, and attend to the ministerial function approving progress payments on contracts which are approved by the County Board.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
Meet the statutory requirements of 605 ILCS 5
At least five (5) years practical experience in civil and highway engineering including highway construction and maintenance experience
Registered as a Professional Engineer disciplined in Transportation, Roadway and Bridge Construction
Successfully obtain certification as NBIS Inspection Team Leader & Program Manager by the State of Illinois
Experience in FHWA & State DOT Policies and Procedures
Knowledge of traffic operations/drainage design and maintenance/site development review, Floodplain Management experience desired
Computer/technology skills desired
Budget experience desired
