Responsible for the efficient and effective operation and daily maintenance of heavy equipment used in a landfill operation; spotting, screening and removing unwanted and recyclable materials from the landfill; and maintaining positive customer and employee relations.

Key Position Responsibilities
Operate and maintain assigned equipment
- Rips, moves, loads and places solid waste material, rock and dirt. - Cleans cabs, tracks, wheels, teeth and other components of machinery.
Spots, screens and removes unwanted and recyclable materials.
Identifies waste materials inappropriate to the landfill and removes them to an appropriate location. Assists landfill spotters and gate attendant in maintaining a presentable landfill organization and appearance.
Participate in and support training and initiatives to improve service quality, safety, customer and employee relations, and operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Knowledge and practical skill to safely and efficiently operate large heavy equipment including but not limited to dozer, compactor, excavator, articulated dump truck and water trucks.
Assist in the operation of the Columbia Tipper.
Required to work in compliance with all Landfill required permits.

Position Requirements
A Valid Driver's License with Clean Driving Record
Class B driver's license OR the ability to obtain a Class B driver's license within 6 months.
Legible handwriting, ability to carry out oral and written instructions, and read equipment instruction manuals in English.

Essential Functions
Tolerance to work in extreme weather and environmental conditions - temperature ranges from below freezing to over 110 degrees, rain and snow, wind, dust and mud.
Ability to lift up to 65 pounds by hand, and work with others and/or machines to lift heavier objects.
Back, leg, arm and shoulder strength required to clean wire, heavy cable, dirt and other debris while working in awkward positions from operational components of the equipment on a daily basis. Requires use of various hand tools including shovels, picks, etc.
Capacity to operate the equipment for up to 3 hours at a time, and between 4 and 11 1/2 hours in a workday.
Mobility to repeatedly access and egress the heavy equipment on all types of flat and sloped terrain, as well as bend, twist and extend the body during equipment operation to observe the operation of the machine and its immediate surrounds.
Strength and coordination in the feet, legs, hands and arms to operate the controls while being jarred and jostled in the cab of the equipment and experiencing sudden vertical changes in position.
Ability to safely climb on and off of heavy equipment in order to operate, clean and inspect.
Ability to walk/stand on uneven cell of solid waste with a slope of up to 50% or a 2:1 slope in order to deploy plastic cover material.
Complete and pass random drug and alcohol tests in accord with DOT and company standards.

Ability to understand proper setup and pop rivet new product lines and assure the correct head types, grip lengths and material type rivets are being used.

The role of a Drill Operator and Locator includes operating directional drill rigs, locating equipment, and product support equipment. Must be familiar with industry standards, policies, guidelines, and procedures.
What you'll do
Operate the drill rig efficiently.
Prep job and drill so that the shot can be performed safely.
Pothole all utilities that will either be paralleled or crossed during the bore shot.
Verify existing utilities.
Fill water tanks with water.

Locate the drill head from point A to point B without hitting any utilities at the correct depth.
Hook up swivel, reamer, and pipe product that will be pulled back to complete the bore shot.

Pull back the product with the correct hole opener and utilize the correct mud mixture to ensure that the product makes it from point B to point A.

This position is for a Laundry Machine Operator in the Textile Care Processing Facility (TCPF) of Environmental Management Service and contributes in the processing of textiles for patient care areas within the Medical Center, White City and the Wolf Creek Job Corps. The incumbent will mainly work in the clean area of the TCPF but at times will also work in the soiled area.
* Loads and unloads a 450lb. dryer and a 110lb. dryer with wet wash using overhead rail slings and carts for loading, unloading, and movement of textiles in various stages of processing to the finishing areas. Selects proper temperature and drying cycle for various fabrics.
* The incumbent is responsible for the operation of a 65-lb.washer/extractor located in the clean area. He/she follows the proper sud-sing, bleaching, rinsing and souring operations under the guidance of the Textile Care Supervisor.
* As the washing process progresses, he/she checks water levels, temperatures, various gauges, valves and safety devices to insure the wash is processed through the correct cycles.
* Monitors loads to ensure proper utilization of equipment and economical operation.
* Coordinates workflow with the washperson to ensure maximum use of dryers by selecting proper types of textiles to maintain adequate quantities and classifications to the finishing textiles.
* Verifies TCPF lists and identification of items against items received. Unidentified items will be marked and effective control measures applied to insure timely return of clothing to proper party.
* In the absence of higher grade machine operators will be required to perform washroom duties and operate washer/extractors consistent with their various load characteristics.
* Cleans and maintains worksite and equipment using air hoses, brushes, brooms and central vacuum units. Duties include regular cleaning of lint collectors in the machines and on the outside of the building which requires working from steps and ladders.
* Performs other TCPF tasks during slack periods or periods of leave by other employees.
