Elam Consttruction, a divison of Summit Materials, is looking for a mechanically inclined, safety-oriented Loader Operator to operate Front End loaders in our Durango, Colorado Aggregate Pit. Roles and Responsibilites
* Operate equipment to assist with the daily production and operations of the plant.
* Assist plant supervisor with the daily operations and upkeep of the plant.
* Ability to inspect all areas of the plant to perform belt repairs, screen changes, bearing replacements and other necessary maintenance.
* Perform welding and fabrication duties as needed.
* Detect safety hazards and equipment malfunctions and respond accordingly.
* Must be able to work evenings and weekends when necessary.
* Perform other job duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
* Proficiency in operating a diverse range of large aggregate heavy machinery, including excavators, bulldozers, and loaders.
* Knowledge of welding and general mechanics preferred.
* Ability to adapt to evolving project requirements, operational strategies, and safety regulations, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
* Deep understanding of MSHA Regulations.
* High school education or GED equivalent.

This position works to maintain the safety of campus by removing snow and ice from campus roadways and parking lots. This work is carried out by operating and maintaining snow removal equipment such as plow trucks with sanders, front-end loaders, backhoes, and skid steer loaders. This position is a part time, on -call position that works on an “as needed” basis as determined by weather conditions.
Job Description:
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Operates vehicles and equipment such as plow trucks, front-end loader, backhoes and skid steer loaders to remove snow and ice from campus roadways and parking lots
Applies traction/de-icing media to roads and parking lot as needed to ensure safe driving conditions
Works on an on-call, as needed basis and must be available for work 24/7 as required by weather conditions.
Uses hand tools as needed to perform minor repairs such as changing cutting edges on snow plows
Performs pre-shift and post-shift equipment checks to ensure vehicles and equipment are operating correctly. Identifies potential problems and reports or corrects as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned
Required Education, Specialized Skills and Experience:
Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
Must be insurable through Fort Lewis College insurance carrier
Ability to work independently to accomplish tasks.

Five (5) or more years of experience operating large snow removal equipment including plow trucks, sanders, front end loaders, backhoes, and skid steer loaders

MAIN FUNCTIONS:
Under the circumstances that the Rig Operator is not able to complete his job duties as assigned the Relief Operator will assume the role of Operator. Under the direction of a Rig Manager, the Rig Relief Operator organizes the rig crew (Floor Hands and Derrick Hands), conducts Job Safety Meetings, delegates the collection of materials and equipment needed to perform the contracted services, drives the Rig to the work site, operates the rig and equipment and directs the crew to set-up and prepare the rig for the tasks to be performed. Directs the assigned floor hands and derrick hands to safely perform the service tasks contracted by a client utilizing the equipment provided by the employer; documents services performed, the billable supplies used during the process and the time elapsed while performing the contracted services. The Rig Relief Operator uses specialized equipment to guide instruments, tubing, and casing down holes. He must keep his working environment in a clean and organized fashion and is responsible for ensuring that all the equipment he uses is in proper working order. Relief Operators' duties also include cleaning, fueling, repairing, and maintaining workover rig equipment to include greasing, changing oils and lubricants as needed and on a regularly scheduled basis.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Available to work beyond the traditional 8-hour workday; available to work Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays, to meet operational needs. Well services work is generally performed during daylight hours, Monday through Friday, occasionally on Saturday and or Sunday. Certain operations cannot, however, be completed during a single daylight period and must be continued without interruption, over several consecutive days. Such operations are referred to as "24-hour operations," and require two or more shifts, crews, to operate the rig. Able to work at heights up to or greater than 50 feet.
* Dependability is imperative. Reporting for work at the prescribed location and time, dressed for deployment to work, is essential. Unauthorized absences will result in discipline up to and including employment termination.
* Performing maintenance services and repairs on oil and gas wells as part of a three-to-five-person crew.
* Lead the daily pre-job tailgate safety meetings and writing JHA's.
* Inspecting and documenting all lift equipment on location including but not limited to derrick harness, lanyard, SRL's, chains and cables, drill line and sand line.
* Lead the crew in the rigging up and rigging down of the workover Rig in a safe manner and performing/documenting post rig up inspections.
* Pulling and laying down Rods, Tubing and Casing by operating the rig controls.
* Guide and manage the rig crew daily.
* Assist in training and mentoring SSE employees and floor hands as needed.
* Assist Rig Manager in various tasks anywhere on the rig as directed by Rig Manager
* Driving company vehicles such as the Crew pick-up truck and the Rig.
* Workshop and SWS Yard maintenance and repair work as required.
* Assist Steel Energy Services management personnel as required.
* Prepare rig tickets correctly and in a timely fashion to include correct pricing on rig rates, re-billable items, manage hours for crew members daily.
* Position the rig, raise, and lower the mast. Direct other crew members in rigging up guy-lines, various equipment, and tools; lift, remove, install, and operate wellhead, pumping units matting boards, tubing, rods, casing, rod strippers, polish rods, stripper heads and other production equipment in a manner consistent with safe operating procedures to perform the contracted services.
* Complies with the client's and the company's safe operating procedures. The Plant Operator is responsible for the day-to-day operations and maintenance of natural gas amine treating plants, compressors and pipeline systems via both computer control center and onsite operations. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:

Farm Support Services
Operates fuel truck delivery service to tractors, heavy equipment, and generators.
Assists Mechanics and Diesel Technicians with repairs and maintenance of fleet units, tractor-trucks, hay squeezers, and farm implements.
Maintains current knowledge, skills, and practices for operating fuel truck effectively, efficiently, and safely.
Performs daily delivery of fuel, oil, and diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) to tractors, heavy equipment, and generators in a timely manner.
Checks fluid levels (oil and hydraulic oil) of tractors, heavy equipment, and generators a timely manner.
Conducts regular inspections of field equipment.
Completes and maintains daily fuel sheet for disbursement of fuel/fluids and measurement of fuel/fluids that have been dispensed to field equipment.
Completes and maintains records of repair and maintenance of fuel truck.
Completes and maintains daily DOT/Driver log in a neat and timely manner.
Keeps fuel truck clean and in good repair.
Assists in keeping the shop clean.
Assists Laborer in unloading and stocking parts and recording inventory.
O&M Civil Works
Operates heavy equipment machinery and performs routine maintenance work, repair, and labor on NAPI/NIIP water system equipment and facilities.
Complies with safety standards when operating heavy equipment around high voltage overhead lines and components, as well as natural gas pipelines.
Performs complete equipment inspections and ensures optimal operating condition.
Organizes and maintains maintenance and repair records on a daily basis, provides progress reports to the supervisor.
Inputs maintenance work orders into Maximo.
Learns and follows safety regulations and monitors operations to ensure that health and safety standards are met.
Prepares Job Hazard Analysis for heavy construction projects.
Identifies materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings or structures such as canals, laterals, and roads.
Take actions to avoid potential hazards and obstructions, such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, and falling objects.
Fabricates pipe breaks and other general maintenance of NIIP Carriage Storage and Distribution Systems; must be able to read NIIP design drawings and specifications.
Performs concrete placement finishing and grout during construction.
Assists in the excavation and back-filling operation, cleaning, and disposing of waste material.
Understands and performs proper soil processing and backfill compaction requirements for repair projects.
Inspects and maintains facility and heavy equipment for safe working order and advises supervisor of needed repairs by using both Maximo and in written daily reports.
Sets and assembles concrete forms during construction of the NAPI Canal concrete lining.
Operates (Tanker) fuel truck and refuels all equipment after each use.
Loads and unloads heavy equipment and transports using lowboys or trailers.
Adjusts hand wheels and depress pedals to control attachments, such as blades, buckets, scrapers, and swing booms.
Starts engines, move throttles, switches, and levers, and depress pedals to operate machines such as bulldozers, trench excavators, road graders, and backhoes.
Locates underground services such as pipes and wires, by using as-built drawings or ground penetrating radar (GPR) and coordinates New Mexico One-calls prior to beginning work.
Aligns machines, cutter heads, or depth gauge makers with reference stakes and guidelines or ground or position equipment, following hand signals of other workers.
Loads and moves dirt, rocks, equipment, and materials, using dump trucks, tractors, loaders, excavators, backhoes, power cranes, shovels, graders, or related equipment.
Drives and maneuvers equipment equipped with blades in successive passes over working areas to remove topsoil, vegetation, and rocks, and to distribute and level earth or terrain, without damaging existing signage and structures along canal roads and lateral right-of-way.
Coordinates machine actions with other activities, positioning or moving loads in response to hand or audio signals from crew members.
Assists the warehouse in yard housekeeping, constructing storage buildings, fences, waste material organization and handling practices.
Performs other duties related to facility and equipment repairs, procurement of materials, communication with dispatch in maintenance work orders, repairs of lateral pipelines and canal systems.
