Responsibilities

Securing of freight may be required through strapping or other methods.

Qualifications
All city tractor trailer drivers must have two years of verifiable interstate driving experience or a minimum of one year of verifiable interstate driving experience and a diploma from an accredited driving school that PITT OHIO approves.
All Drivers must pass a PITT OHIO driving test administered by an approved PITT OHIO Trainer.
All Drivers except sprinter truck drivers will be required to possess or obtain within 90 days a Haz-Mat and Tanker endorsement on their current valid driver's license issued by the resident state in which they reside.
All drivers to possess only one valid driver's license issued by the resident state of the driver. Operators who have recently transferred from another state must produce a copy of the former license or provide license information for verification from that state. Drivers will need to provide information on all previously held licenses within the past 36-month period.
No record of a driver's license suspension or revocation for more than 30 days, covering the 36-month period prior to the order date of a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR). A suspension for failure to pay and/or failure to appear will be considered provided that there was no conviction for driving while suspended during this time period.
No record of citation or conviction for any serious traffic violation during the 60-month period prior to the order date of a Motor Vehicle Record.
No past pattern or record of citations or convictions for more than three motor vehicle violations during the 36-month period prior to the order date of the Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
No past pattern or record of involvement in more than one at-fault traffic accident and no more than two motor vehicle violations during the 36-month period prior to the order date of the MVR.
Must pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
Must consent to a pre-employment drug screen. Pitt Ohio must receive a negative result.
PITT OHIO must receive a negative controlled substance and alcohol result from prior employer(s) for the past three-year period. No prior evidence of controlled substance use.
There must be no instance of refusal to submit to an Alcohol or Controlled Substance test within the past 3-year period including a pre-employment test.

The function of this role is to work within the Fulfillment Center (FC) performing fulfilment related duties and back up the Switcher Driver II role to facilitate transportation and FC functions. This will include responsibilities in inbound or outbound operations. Responsibilities also require collaboration with all aspects of the FC operations, as well as Chewy carriers and vendors, to provide exemplary customer service in our fulfillment center. This position is critical in ensuring that the Chewy fulfilment operations have adequate support and can step into the driving role when needed. While driving, this role will move both loaded and empty trailers to ensure that they are positioned safely, accurately, and efficiently.
What you'll do:
Work with transportation and operations teams to prioritize tasks.
Labeling, replenishing, box making, and loading/unloading trailers.
Fulfilling and organizing orders to ensure customer delivery process is efficient and accurate.
Work in operational roles such as order picking, outbound docks, or other outbound related functions as needed.
Perform periodic spot checks of the yard and reporting on equipment.
Operate a switcher unit a minimum of 5-hours within a 30 calendar day period.
When driving, ensure switcher equipment is in safe working order to include pre/post-trip inspections, tire condition, and unit hours reporting.
When driving, safely move carrier trailers within the Chewy yard to include both loads and empties for the Inbound and Outbound docks.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Participate in additional training where applicable.

Reporting to the Support Services Manager, the Shuttle Driver is to transport student passengers to and from locations using a campus vehicle. Daily Shuttle locations include the College campus and other businesses and medical facilities in the Westminster area. Break Shuttle locations include BWI Airport and BWI Amtrak. This is a part-time position paying an hourly rate of $15.25 an hour.
Specific Responsibilities
* Follow all State, Local and Federal Traffic laws while in McDaniel vehicles.
* Adhere to guidelines and regulations as they pertain to the College Driving Policy.
* Transport student passengers to and from assigned off campus locations including urgent care facilities and shopping areas within Westminster (Daily Shuttle).
* Pick up student passengers at the designated location and return passengers to the same area within a designated time frame.
* Manage the total number of student passengers on the van during all departing and returning trips (11-passenger van).
* Monitor behavior of students riding the van.
* Record the number of riders to each location.
* Report any problems, issues or concerns involving the shuttle service.
* Strictly adhere to the assigned shuttle schedule.
* Conduct daily pre- and post- inspections of the assigned vehicle.
* Assist with signing in students for the service and recording all of the needed information.
* Refuel as needed.
* Transport student passengers to and from Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport and BWI Amtrak Station (Break Shuttle).
* Pick up student passengers at the designated location for departure to a specific location at specified times.
* Drop off students at the designated location.
* Pick up students at BWI Airport and BWI Amtrak Station on specified pick updates and return to McDaniel.

Qualifications
* A valid Class C driver's license for at least six years and point-free driving record for at least three years (CDL not required)
* Availability to work Monday thru Saturdays. Occasionally Sundays are required.
* Familiar with the BWI Airport, BWI Amtrak, and the local Westminster area.
* Demonstrate ability to drive an 11-passenger van.
* Ability to communicate efficiently via cell phone.
* Ability to communicate effectively with students and Campus Safety staff.
Physical Characteristics
This position requires sitting for long periods of time, as well as some bending and stooping when inspecting the van. This position does have limited lifting involved but not more than 50 pounds at a time. Finger/hand dexterity is typical with the daily operations of a vehicle. The job setting is primarily within an 11-passenger van.
