Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent
- 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

We are looking for a new team member for our USDA Plant! Southside Market has been around since 1882 and is the oldest BBQ joint in the state. We started selling freshly butchered meat off a back of a wagon and week our history alive on a much bigger scale in out Plant. We have a variety of products including brisket, chicken, ribs and more. But here at Southside we are known as the sausage capital of Texas.
We are currently looking for a Packaging Technician!
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Cuts and packages processed products.
* Uses shrink machine to wrap packages
* Labels all packages according to USDA guidelines
* Weighs and prices all packaged products
* Boxes all products and prepares them for shipping
* Operates the packaging machine.
* Weighs and prices product
* Produces raw product according to USDA
* Sanitizes and maintains packaging equipment
* Cleans and sanitizes the packaging area according to USDA
* Observes safety and security standards.

* Prior manufacturing plant experience preferred.

This is a 1st shift position Monday-Friday 5a-1:30p. This position is responsible for ensuring products are packaged in accordance with FDA regulatory requirements as well as company procedures and policies.

- Packaged products to BRC quality standard and in accordance with GMP regulations
- Notifying the Packaging Line Lead when there are major equipment problems and/ or product defects
- Ensuring equipment is assembled correctly and is operating at optimal setting during packaging runs
- Monitoring product quality during packaging runs
- Performing minor equipment trouble shooting
- Cleaning, assembling, sanitizing and operating all packaging equipment in accordance with cGMPs
- Cleaning and maintaining packaging rooms in accordance with cGMPs
- Accurately filling out and following instructions as specified on manufacturing/packaging records
- Moving packaged products to the designated staging area at the end of each packaging run
- Making sure the packaging areas are maintained in a safe, clean and organized manner
- Observing all GMP, Safety and company policies
Work Requirements and Experience
-Previous or similar work experience is preferred, but not required
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English to perform necessary duties.
- Must be able to complete BRC training program
- Must demonstrate flexibility when re-prioritization is necessary
- Must be able to work overtime when the company deems necessary
- Must be able to wear the necessary, job-related personal protective equipment
- Ability to lift (up to 50-lbs), stand, walk, bend, crouch, reach, stretch, step, climb occasionally during the duration of the shift.

The opportunity
Preparation for Production
Clean lab and equipment according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Prepare raw products and packaging materials
Follow procedures and maintain all parameters conformant to cGMPs
Packaging of Chemicals and Devices
Prepare packaging materials
Package bulk chemicals, devices, narcotics and controlled substances
Clean lab and utensils after completion of production
Manufacturing Products
Complete the necessary forms for manufactured materials from subcontractors
Weigh, package, prepare and ship the materials for manufacturing
Qualifications
High School Diploma required
Minimum one (1) year experience in a warehouse environment, Production experience in chemical/pharmaceutical industry preferred
Lifting required, heavy lifting of up to 60lbs is required at times.
Knowledge of cGMP's is an asset
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team
Good mathematical skills
Accountable, dependable, Team player with strong communications skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Use of respirator and full PPE required majority of time
Excellent communication skills required; fluent English (oral & written)
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) required; Syspro an asset
