May assist pharmacist in administering clinical services including the collection and proper labeling of blood/urine samples from patients and other clinical services as required; assists pharmacy staff in coordination of clinical services, Walgreens healthcare clinics and external providers. Assists Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist in developing and maintaining good relationships with the local medical community, including physicians, nurses, and other health care providers, by medical provider detailing and outreach to health groups, retirement homes, nursing homes, and other forums for enhancing growth opportunities. Assists with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring the Pharmacy Department is stocked with adequate supplies, clean, neat and orderly in condition and appearance. Training & Personal Development Earns and maintains PTCB certification through the designated PTCB training program and/or state required certification/registration. The Pharmacy Technician shall perform the following procedures, as required, and in strict compliance with standing orders and protocols set forth by the MTF to include, but will not necessarily be limited to the following: Works under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist and performs technical support work in any or all of the following pharmacy functional areas-outpatient, inpatient, support, or clinical pharmacy services. Answers routine inquiries from doctors, nurses, and other staff members on such matters as classification of drugs in stock, new drugs on order, and dosage forms of drugs available in the pharmacy. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for supporting clinical staff and providing patients with excellent customer service. Prescription processing at all workstations: prescription intake, data entry, filling, operating a register. Manage workflow in a safe, efficient, and timely manner. Interview patients to obtain financial and plan specific information required for bulk medication programs like Direct Relief, Pfizer and AstraZeneca. Manage multiple drug inventories, physical and virtual, according to policies and procedures of individual programs such as 340B, samples, clinic stock medications and bulk medication programs. Provide friendly support services to clinic staff. Assist the pharmacist with administrative functions associated with Comprehensive Medication Reviews. Under the direction of the pharmacist, complete and document in the EMR, Prior Authorizations for clinic providers. Assist patients with complicated medication regimens by organizing and packaging medications in adherence packaging cards. Document pharmacy related communications in the patient EMR. Assists patients with drug assistance applications after other affordable medication resources have been exhausted.
