About the Opportunity:
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Hours: 8am to 6pm (Mon to Thurs) and 8am to 12pm (Fri)
Responsibilities:
Perform accurate and efficient data entry, billing, product dispensing and labeling, and release to patient functions
Collect the correct monies when releasing prescriptions at will call as well as provide accurate change to patients
Submit accurate and necessary supply and medication orders
Follow all medication guidelines as well as policies and procedures for receiving, filling, dispensing, logging, maintaining loss prevention procedures, and avoiding diversion for all inventory, including controlled medications
Review prescriptions issued by Physicians or other authorized prescribers to assure accuracy, appropriateness, and determine formulas and ingredients needed
Compound medications, using standard formulas and processes such as weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients
Accurately enter and maintain patient demographic information
Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in a Retail-type Community Pharmacy setting
High School Diploma / GED
Pharmacy Technician Training Program Certificate of Completion (must be provided to the organization within 2 weeks of hire)
Current Florida Pharmacy Technician license, active and in good standing, with no restrictions
BLS and CPR certifications
Computer-savvy and Microsoft Office proficient

Key responsibilities include managing the automatic dispensing cabinet (Pyxis)/patient specific bin items, conducting inventory checks, processing product returns, removing expired medications, prepacking medications as necessary, purchasing medications based on pharmacy needs and inventory costs, and returning any recalled items. The Technician II, Health Systems Pharmacy ensures that all orders are reviewed by a registered pharmacist and records all activity in compliance with regulatory and company guidelines. This job frequently communicates with other healthcare providers to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment of all orders.
Responsibilities
Assists the Pharmacist as needed, permitted by State Boards of Pharmacy.
Takes inventory, places orders, checks in drugs and supplies, stocks shelves and removes out-of-date items from the inventory.
Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Inputs patient data and prescription information as needed into the pharmacy information management system.
Fill and label medications.
Refill Pyxis and deliver patient specific medications after pharmacist verification.
Prepares and compounds sterile IV mixtures as required.
Communicates with all healthcare professionals and patients in a courteous and professional manner.
Maintains knowledge of and abides by all applicable pharmacy laws and regulations.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience preferred.
Active Florida Pharmacy Technician License required.
National Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB) or ability to obtain preferred.
Buyer experience preferred.
Inpatient/hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
IV experience preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong customer service skills.

Job Summary
The Registered Pharmacy Technician functions under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist/Pharmacy Manager and is responsible for the accurate preparation of prescriptions for verification by the Pharmacist on duty and maintaining the workflow of the pharmacy including cashiering and the accurate release of prescriptions at will call.
