Facility Support

This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, phlebotomy position located at a client site in Marion, IL.
Must be able to work Monday through Friday 7:30am - 4pm.
The Phlebotomist reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
The Phlebotomist provides expert phlebotomy services and must demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills. The phlebotomist must have the ability to function as part of a highly effective team that consistently puts "Patients First".
The Phlebotomist is responsible for venipuncture collection and specimen processing. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to order entry in multiple systems, verification of test result receipt, patient information retrieval and lab reception/clerical duties and functions.
Responsibilities:
* Performs phlebotomy and other lab specimen collections per age related standards and in accordance with departmental policies, protocols and procedures.
* Demonstrates AIDET model and optimizes patient safety to reduce the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
* Receives and reviews physician orders; ensures that all necessary information is included for appropriate lab services. Enters accurate orders for lab tests in accordance with department policies, protocols and procedures.

* Communicates and notifies Laboratory and/or Physician of problems with specimen procurement for optimal care
* Maintains a safe work environment, holds self-accountable for safe work practices; including adhering to biohazard waste procedures and ensuring proper storage and timely pickup of biohazardous waste.

Perform cleaning and stocking of clinical supplies in lab and exam room
Obtain lab results and clinical notes/dictations
Post-appointment patient follow-up including verification of completed diagnostic testing and medication changes
Answer and triage incoming phone calls; communicate physician recommendations and/or report test results via phone; call in prescriptions
Patient scheduling
Front office duties as needed: greet patients and visitors, collect insurance information, process copays or other payments
Assist other team members with patient care
QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior medical office experience preferred
