Because the employed provider has a high volume, the hospitalist can expect a consistently busy workload. Each shift provides 24hour coverage, with 12 hours restricted onsite and 12 hours nonrestricted, though physicians are likely to be called in overnight for deliveries. The facility averages 400 deliveries per year, typically more than one per day. A Texas license, DEA, and board certification are required, and the EMR used is Meditech.
