Working with the Domestic Operations Manager, this Corporate Logistics position has front line responsibility to support warehouse KPIs and continuous improvement for North American corporate managed warehouses. The position will be actively involved in day-to-day issue resolutions, gap analysis, and continuous improvement projects in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Key metrics will be monitored including warehouse costs, on-time performance, inventory accuracy, and complaints. The ability to independently analyze performance and drive improvements of key metrics and service level agreements is fundamental to success. The Inside Sales Representative, with minimal supervision, manages an assigned sales account base and functions to provide value to a selected group of customers. The Engineering Leadership Development Program accelerates professional development by placing participants in multiple engineering related roles during a two-year rotational program working with different Avient manufacturing sites. Individuals get hands-on experience by going through two or more rotations (depending on function and/or geographic) gaining key technical, change management, and leadership competencies. Each of these assignments will support a wide range of projects and activities focused on adding real value for the business and driving improvement in the critical manufacturing processes of Avient. Essential Functions * Troubleshoots mechanical devices in operation. Dismantles and examines devices to gain access to and remove defective parts. Adjusts, repairs or replaces defective parts. * Sets up and operates shop machinery such as lathe, drill press, grinders, band saws, cutting torch, welder. etc. Uses hand tools and pneumatic tools to modify or repair parts and equipment. * Installs new or repairs/modifies hydraulic and pneumatic equipment as needed. * Completes projects with minimal guidance showing a proactive attitude to minimizing equipment down time and lost production capability. * Improves reliability and uptime of all equipment. Takes a proactive approach to equipment issues with a preventive maintenance mentality. * Operates forklift and hydraulic working platform as needed. * Researches supplies, parts and tools needed to complete work orders. * Assists in identifying and maintaining an accurate inventory of parts. * Contributes to upkeep and updating of required paperwork such as records, maintenance logs, documents, manuals, drawings, PM logs, etc. Qualifications * High School diploma, General Education Diploma (GED) * Technical School degree or equivalent experience * Work experience in an industrial operations environment preferred * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, or procedure manuals * Must have mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Must have the ability to use conversions, work with different units such as weight, volume, density, distance, etc. Physical Demands * Requires standing and sitting for extended periods of time, talking and listening * Must be able to walk and use hands. Occasionally requires bending, stooping, climbing ladders and stairs * May occasionally be required to lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds * Ability to frequently communicate and understand work instructions and information in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where noise level is loud * Must be able to detect and discern safety alarms and respond accordingly * Generally requires the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, hard hat, respiratory protection * Exposure to outside weather conditions is routine * May be exposed to working in extreme heat and humidity * May also be exposed on occasion to dust or fumes
