I. Position Summary
Performs a variety of tasks involving the custodial, maintenance, and landscaping for the shelter. Performs work within a framework of standard policies and procedures under general supervision, independently performing the full range of duties.
II. Examples of Essential Position Duties (The following duties represent some of the principal job duties; however, they are not all-inclusive. Other duties may be required or assigned.)
* Performs daily cleaning of kennels, cages, and public areas, following proper disease control protocol to ensure a sterile environment. Spot cleans in the animal and public areas throughout the day.
* Keeps staff informed of concerns regarding animal behavior and health.
* Assists with the movement of the animals throughout the shelter
* Requests and stocks all kennel and cleaning supplies. Cleans, folds and stocks the kennel laundry throughout the facility.
* Performs routine maintenance to equipment, buildings, and fixtures.
* Performs basic landscaping including weeding, mowing and fertilizing.
* Adheres to regulatory requirements, collective bargaining agreements, County and departmental policies and procedures, required trainings, as well as safe work practices.
* Develops and maintains effective internal and external working relationships at all levels.
* Has regular and reliable attendance. Overtime may be required. May work a variety of shifts and schedules, including nights, holidays and weekends.

About the Role
