Responsibilities Overview The Dishwasher / Steward plays a key role in supporting the success of the culinary and service teams by maintaining cleanliness, organization, and efficiency throughout the kitchen and dish areas. This position ensures all kitchen equipment, utensils, and serviceware are properly cleaned, sanitized, and stored while assisting with general kitchen upkeep. Through attention to detail, teamwork, and consistency, the Steward helps deliver on the KCC Food & Beverage Vision-to create extraordinary dining experiences defined by excellence, care, and genuine hospitality What You'll Be Doing Dishwashing & Sanitation Wash, rinse, and sanitize all dishes, glassware, utensils, and kitchen equipment according to health and safety standards. Maintain cleanliness and organization of dish stations, sinks, and sanitation areas. Operate dish machines safely and efficiently, following proper loading and chemical use procedures. Handle and store all clean items properly to prevent contamination or damage. Kitchen & Facility Support Assist cooks and chefs by keeping prep and service areas stocked with clean equipment. Sweep, mop, and maintain floors to ensure a safe, clean working environment. Empty trash and recycling bins regularly; clean and sanitize receptacles as needed. Support kitchen staff with light prep, deliveries, and organization as directed by leadership. Safety & Equipment Care Follow all KCC and local safety regulations for chemical handling, sanitation, and personal hygiene. Report any maintenance, plumbing, or equipment issues immediately to the Kitchen Supervisor or Sous Chef. Ensure all cleaning and sanitizing supplies are stocked and stored safely. Teamwork & Collaboration Work closely with the culinary and service teams to ensure efficient back-of-house operations. Communicate effectively with peers and leadership, maintaining a positive and professional attitude. Demonstrate dependability, punctuality, and pride in supporting the entire KCC dining experience. Qualifications What You Need for this Position Previous experience in a kitchen or stewarding role preferred, but not required. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain cleanliness standards in a fast-paced environment. Basic understanding of sanitation and safety practices (training provided). Dependable, positive, and team-oriented work ethic. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Able to stand for long periods (8+ hours).
