We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Sr. Research Scientist to lead research and development initiatives within our dental chemical consumables product category. This role is ideal for a scientific leader who thrives on innovation, cross-functional collaboration, and mentoring others while driving product development from concept to commercialization. This position will be based in Pomona, CA location in the near future, and will work from our Orange, CA location in the interim. PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Actively seeking new technologies, and product features as part of innovation activities for the assigned product category and other dental chemical consumables products that could translate into new product offerings. Create research activities outline (design of experiments) and schedule according to the company's timetable and establish daily or weekly routines necessary to meet the project timetable. Developed in-depth knowledge and deep understanding (Subject Matter Expert /SME) of the assigned category with a good understanding of at least one adjacent category. Provide input and support in the planning of assigned category strategic roadmap. Lead R&D activities as part of design control/design change project within assigned product category with limited guidance from senior member. Proficient in NPD tollgate and design change to independently prepared and execute activities (example: test methods, design verification protocol and report, ECR memo, etc). Lead NPD feasibility work and provide support on sustaining project at moderate to high complexity within assigned category. Provide mentoring/coaching to research associates and research chemists. Represent R&D in product risk management activities (documentation of risk identification, mitigation verification, etc) Carries out experiments using appropriate equipment, techniques, and protocols. Applies good laboratory practices. Lead and/or execute experiments that scientifically confirm product performance, reliability, and shelf life. Identifies deficiencies and modifies/improves existing procedures. Expected to participate with significant contribution in at least a combination of two product launches or life-cycle management (sustaining) projects with medium to high impact/complexity level. Applies scientific theory to reach conclusions based on data analysis. Complies with all company policies and procedures including quality, complaint handling, and safety. As a successful candidate, you will be: * Developing liquid biopsy biomarkers for cancer diagnosis, prognosis, and therapy response prediction. * Investigating the epigenetic basis of GI cancers, such as aberrant DNA methylation, histone modifications, and non-coding RNAs. * Exploring the genetics of early-onset and familial/hereditary colorectal cancers. * Studying the tumor microenvironment, stem cells, immune regulation, and identifying targeted therapies. * Investigating extracellular vesicles/exosomes in cancer pathogenesis and as disease biomarkers Your qualifications should include: * PhD, MD, or MD/PhD, with a strong background and profound knowledge in the field of oncology, cancer biology, immunology, or immunotherapy. * Prior molecular, cancer biology, and/or translational research experience and evidence of project development and supervision of post-doctoral fellows and technical staff. * Evidence of scientific rigor and excellence as documented by high-impact peer-reviewed publications, as a first/lead author. * Evidence for obtaining successful funding from various foundations or other extramural resources. * Documented evidence of mentoring post-docs, research associates, and others in a research laboratory environment.
