We are currently seeking an **Intern -** **Manufacturing Engineering (Summer 2026)** **.** This role will support the Plant Engineering team in identifying and implementing improvements to manufacturing processes, equipment, and systems. The role is designed to provide hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, with exposure to project work, equipment troubleshooting, and process optimization. **Key Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvement using lean manufacturing principles.
+ Support data collection and analysis for root cause investigations and improvement initiatives.
+ Help update mechanical or electrical drawings using AutoCAD or similar software (training provided).
+ Participate in project planning and implementation under the guidance of engineering staff.
+ Learn and implement project management, reliability, and electrical and control system basics.
+ Assist in preparing specifications for equipment, materials, and services.
+ Troubleshoot manufacturing and facilities equipment, either mechanical or electrical, including sensors, switches, relays, PLCs, variable drives and motors.

**Qualifications:**
+ Must be enrolled in an accredited university or college pursuing a degree in mechanical, electrical, or manufacturing Engineering or related discipline.
+ Must be at least Sophomore status.
+ Must have a minimum 2.5 Cumulative GPA (student will be required to provide a current transcript).
+ Must be available to work at least 40 hours per week for at least 12 weeks.
+ Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
+ Strong interest in manufacturing operations and process improvement.

Job Purpose
The Supply Chain Management Operations Department is responsible for the oversight, standardization and technical leadership of the internal material handling operations at the Honda automobile powertrain and final assembly sites across North America. Key Accountabilities

Areas of responsibility include manpower planning, process and vanning layout design, expectation sheet development and New Model packaging evaluations.
Identify and support implementation of process improvements in support of business plan objectives and general cost reduction.
Execute tasks as prescribed by and maintain Specified Action Plans (SAP). Create SAP's for projects with limited complexity (less than $100,000).
Maintain assigned process design through daily maintenance, process audits, and continuous improvement.
Ensure all process related documentation is completed in the standard format, stored in the proper location, and communicated to all of the appropriate parties.
Assist investigation of production related issues through situation analysis, using established problem-solving techniques and support the implementation of countermeasures.

* Assist in the inspection of capital projects for compliance with specifications and quality control
* Coordinate reviews of refrigeration and electrical/mechanical plans with technician staff
* Assist in the review of proposed change orders and their validity
* Assist in the review of architecture plans for completeness and compliance with standards
* Provide support to other Facility Engineering personnel, as requested
* Participate in department meetings and "huddles"
* Complete estimates and manage completion of minor capital projects

Our division is growing quickly, and we are looking for students or early-career candidates who want hands-on experience in construction signage estimating.
The Role
This internship is your pathway to a full-time Project Estimator role. You will assist with preparing estimates, maintaining project documentation, and learning the workflows and systems that make a construction signage business run efficiently.
You will:
* Assist with preparing project estimates and proposals.
* Learn to use standardized pricing catalogs and estimating tools.
* Support the Fastsigns / BuildPro team with data entry, research, and documentation.
* Help improve workflow and efficiency for repeatable projects.
* Gain knowledge of materials, project coordination, and estimating best practices.
Qualifications:
* Current student or recent grad at a local community college, tech school, or similar program.
* Confident, conscientious, detail-oriented, and motivated to learn.
* Comfortable with numbers, spreadsheets (Excel), and technology.
* Strong organizational skills and willingness to handle high-volume, repetitive tasks.
* Team-oriented and willing to follow detailed instructions.
