This internship opportunity will be full-time, in-person during the summer 2026 season. The internship duration is 12 weeks working 40 hours per week.
The Land Acquisition Internship is targeted to teach you the land acquisition process including searching for land, identifying land, underwriting the land and the closing processes. This includes conducting market research, financial analysis, buyer segmentation and product pairing. This is all while learning the broader business strategy, participating in cross-functional projects involving other interns and business leaders. The land development side is targeted to teach you about all aspects of new community development from pre-acquisition to turnover of finished lots for homebuilding operations to project close-out. This includes ensuring that new communities are opened on time and on budget. Gain exposure to all plan procurement, site construction activities, contract negotiations, schedule adherence, etc. Interact daily with various departments of the company, subcontractors, customers, and municipalities. Also, learning about the planning and construction that is required for creating a safe and well-organized parcel of land in preparation for the vertical building phase. This includes conducting property value analyses, learning about construction regulations and zoning ordinances, as well as environmental restrictions.

Work closely with internal business leaders to learn the homebuilding industry, the Meritage business model and an assigned functional area such as construction, land, marketing, operations, purchasing, finance, human resources, etc.

**Job Description**
The Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leader for Electrical Power Systems Engineering will be responsible for leading a cross-functional team to design, develop, and deliver advanced electrical power systems for ground vehicle and aerospace applications. This role requires a strong technical background in engineering, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to manage complex projects from concept through production.
Systems engineering is a cross-functional engineering discipline centered on an approach, mindset, and set of structured processes. All activities consider both the business and the technical needs of the customers with the goal of providing a quality product that meets the users' needs. The discipline executes a robust process of design, creation, and optimization of systems, consisting of identification and quantification of system requirements, creation of alternate system design concepts, performance of design trade studies, selection and implementation of the best designs and verification that the design is properly integrated and executed. **Key Responsibilities:**
+ Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, designers, and other professionals to achieve project goals.
+ Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This work would include multiple engineering disciplines for all products.

Investigator interns are unpaid/volunteer and enrolled typically in school. Often interns receive course credit, or work here as part of a clinic assignment. Applicants must maintain total confidentiality, be honest, and possess integrity and demonstrate a commitment to the mission of the 15th Judicial Circuit Public Defender's Office.
The Investigators' team is comprised of a diverse group of 10 people (on average), who typically possess a bachelor's degree in criminal justice or psychology. The Investigator Intern Program provides the PD-15 with interns so that college students have an opportunity to learn and train, free of charge, in the field of criminal investigation, which exposes interns to an exciting and rewarding career path.
Our interns, if enrolled in an academic program, can receive school credit for their intern participation. PD-15's Investigators' team assigns each intern to a mentor investigator whom interns observe conducting client interviews prior to first appearances, interviewing witnesses, and tracking down leads. Interns eventually work independently to: conduct client interviews at the jail; track down information; locate and interview witnesses; review case files; and examine, diagram, and photograph crime scenes. Investigator interns learn about and use research- and legal-computer programs, participate in a security class at the jail, pass a background check, and have reliable transportation for traveling to/fr the office and to/fr the jail. Interns must also have availability on three days of the week/24 hours a week between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

SkillBridge connects Service members with industry partners in real-world job experiences under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.29. Separating Service members can be granted up to 180 days of permissive duty to focus solely on training full-time with approved industry partners after unit commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) provides written authorization and approval. GE Aerospace as a SkillBridge partner offers real-world training and work experience in in-demand fields of work while having the opportunity to evaluate the Service member's suitability for the work. Military DoD SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from GE Aerospace, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members.Job DescriptionThe Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leader for Electrical Power Systems Engineering will be responsible for leading a cross-functional team to design, develop, and deliver advanced electrical power systems for ground vehicle and aerospace applications. This role requires a strong technical background in engineering, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to manage complex projects from concept through production.
Systems engineering is a cross-functional engineering discipline centered on an approach, mindset, and set of structured processes. All activities consider both the business and the technical needs of the customers with the goal of providing a quality product that meets the users' needs. The discipline executes a robust process of design, creation, and optimization of systems, consisting of identification and quantification of system requirements, creation of alternate system design concepts, performance of design trade studies, selection and implementation of the best designs and verification that the design is properly integrated and executed. High levels of operational judgment are required to achieve desired outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, designers, and other professionals to achieve project goals.
Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This work would include multiple engineering disciplines for all products.
Requires specialized knowledge within the function. Influence the development of strategy for the area of responsibility, including control of resources and influences policy formulation.
Interprets simple internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes, or services. Stays informed of industry trends that may inform work.
Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering.
Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
May manage functional teams or projects with varying levels of complexity. Communicates difficult concepts and may influence others on particular topics. May guide others to consider a different point of view.
Ensure all project activities adhere to safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC) standards, with a primary focus on safety.
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource plans in coordination with project managers.
Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among team members, stakeholders, and external partners.
Oversee the design, development, testing, and validation of electrical power systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
Identify and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement best practices in engineering.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
Prepare and present project status reports to senior management and customers.
Required Qualifications:
Active Military personnel on their last 180 days of Military service
Bachelor's degree in electrical/mechanical engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical power or systems engineering, hardware, software, or mechanical design.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in engineering or a related field.
Experience in requirements development, verification, and validation of avionics power systems.
Knowledge of electrical power conversion/control systems, technical requirements, and certification requirements
Design experience with high power/high density power converter utilizing SiC and GaN devices for airborne and military ground vehicle applications.
Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
Proven track record of successfully managing complex engineering projects.
Strong understanding of aerospace industry standards and regulations.
Experience with lean manufacturing principles and practices.
Familiarity with systems engineering principles and practices.
Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
