Job Description Project Overview: The conservation department of the Cleveland Museum of Art welcomes applications for a preprogram 6-8 week summer internship in Preventive Conservation for 2026. The intern will join a collaborative and convivial team in caring for, studying, and treating objects from the Museum's encyclopedic collection. The CMA maintains a full schedule of loans, rotations, and exhibitions, with associated assessment, documentation, and treatment needs. The Conservation department is also committed to ongoing research and investigation of objects in the collection. The Conservation department prioritizes participation in education and outreach programs and ensures that the intern will have the chance to present their work to public audiences and share conservation activities on social media. Projects underway in the lab during summer 2026 may include: exhibition maintenance for Martin Puryear: Nexus; maintenance of three dimensional artworks on display in the galleries; buffering and scavenger material preparation for exhibitions; acting as part of the museum climate management team; participation in the museum's Integrated Pest Management program; documentation of incoming and outgoing loan objects; and potential collaborations with the objects conservation team on cleaning and light treatment of museum objects. Our Personal Lines Underwriting Team consists of four regions comprised of Region and Market Underwriters, whose primary focus is to establish effective relationships and to drive profitable growth. Our Personal Lines Product Team leverages a range of business, industry, and technical skills to identify current market and product trends. Our Personal Lines Services Team manages policy updates and service requests from our agencies and customers with accuracy and care. The team's focus on responsiveness and consistency builds trust with customers and agents, strengthening relationships and supporting retention. Job Responsibilities * Assists the business unit in completing the tasks assigned to them, which often includes, but is not limited to, project work and covering the day-to-day operations of the business unit. * Participates in training programs, workshops, and on-the-job learning opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills related to the field or industry of the internship. * Participates in summer internship program events, including Lunch and Learns. * Completes assigned tasks and projects efficiently and effectively, following instructions and guidelines provided by supervisors or mentors. * Conducts research, gathers data, and analyzes information relevant to the internship focus or assigned projects. * Takes responsibility for administrative and support tasks of the department. * Collaborates with colleagues, supervisors, and other stakeholders to effectively communicate progress, challenges, and ideas, and actively participates in team meetings or discussions. * Works on projects that provide opportunity to collaborate with other interns as well as associates in other departments, ranging from data analysis to mentors. * Identifies and resolves issues or challenges that arise during the internship, demonstrating problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to finding solutions. * Demonstrates professionalism, punctuality, and a strong work ethic by being reliable, responsible, and maintaining a positive attitude towards assigned responsibilities. * Develops business skills in communication and shadowing other professionals. * Maintaining accurate records, documenting progress, and preparing reports or presentations as required by the internship program or supervisors. * Attends business unit meetings as assigned and creates and delivers presentations. * Seeks feedback from supervisors or mentors, actively seeking opportunities for improvement, and applying learning to enhance performance throughout the internship. * For field roles, only: Expected to drive/travel at least 25% of working time to perform essential functions. * This may involve traveling on short notice or other daily driving duties as assigned. Job Qualifications * High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) and/or commensurate experience. * Either actively enrolled in an academic institution in pursuit of a degree in a relevant course of study or is a recent college graduate, typically having attained a degree within the past 12 months. * For field roles, only: Valid driver's license and a driving record that conforms to company standards. Location Hybrid defined as three (3) or more days per week in the office.
