SCOPE: As an Engineering Intern at E-ONE, you will be working with Engineering teams to understand and translate customer requirements into the design of components and systems that are safe, efficient and reliable. During the design phase you will be part of a design team that will design, review and release design packages consisting of 3D models, part drawings, and Bills of Materials needed for the manufacturing of a fire truck. During the production phase, you will be working with Manufacturing and Quality to help ensure the truck meets customer requirements and delivery expectations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Assist with creation or changing electrical and mechanical components and systems used on Fire Apparatus.
o Components include wire harnesses, power distribution systems, micro-controllers, switches, gauges, etc.
* Participate in customizing electronic control systems software.
* Participate in the creation of 3D models and drawings to be used to manufacture components. Delivery of producible designs to Manufacturing, applying Design for Manufacturing (DFM) methodologies to assure form, fit and function.
* Participate in the creation and management of Bills of Materials (BOM) in adherence to company standards.
* Participation in customer meetings to understand the design requirements and answer questions regarding product design parameters and/or limitations.
* Providing support during manufacturing to ensure quality and schedule commitments are met.
* Assist with fulfillment of customer requirements (i.e. quotes, shop orders) considering design rules and all applicable interface points.
* Holding cross-functional design reviews as appropriate to solicit input to deliver a robust design that is producible, avoiding interferences and meeting all industry and company requirements.
* Assist with managing Engineering Changes Requests through established processes and documentation.
* All other duties as assigned

POSITION EXPECTATIONS:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
* Associate Degree in Engineering.
* Proficiency in CAD systems - CREO and/or Auto CAD
* Knowledge and experience with vehicle CAN bus architecture and protocol such as CANOpen, J1939, etc.
* Must have knowledge of electronic circuit design and related components such as resistors, capacitors, etc.
* Must have a general understanding of harness design and developing wiring schematics.
* Must have a general understanding of design and/or drafting techniques.
* Must be knowledgeable in AutoCAD, ProE/Creo or other design software.
* Must have knowledge of harness design software - Zuken E3, VeSys etc.
* Useful skills:
o Awareness and familiarization of regulatory standards - NFPA, DOT, ULC etc.
o Knowledge and use of lean manufacturing principles
o Problem solving skills including Root Cause Analysis, 5-Why, Is Is-Not, etc.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
As a summer intern in the Actuarial Department, you'll work on Quarterly Rate Indications. Your project involves querying and curating product line of business experience data from the data warehouse. You will also perform pricing segmentation analysis to evaluate the adequacy of the current rate structure.

The Intern position is a temporary, 12-week role designed to introduce students or recent graduates to the property and casualty insurance industry. In this program, the intern will be tasked with leading and completing a Lean Six Sigma project, with the opportunity to earn their Yellow Belt certification.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Attend Lean Six Sigma training and lead a project from inception to completion.
· Interact and collaborate with internal departments to gain industry knowledge and achieve project goals.
· Prepare and present project updates to senior management.
· Become familiar with property and casualty insurance industry terminology.
· Complete assigned trainings on property and casualty insurance industry knowledge.
· Assist team members with day-to-day tasks and assignments.
· Shadow team members and assigned executive mentor to gain insider knowledge of property and casualty insurance.
· Network with others through participation in social company events.
· Attend onboarding and training as assigned.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
As a summer intern in the Commercial Department, you will work on a project to enhance the efficiency of commercial underwriting, operations, and marketing processes. Your project will focus on evaluating current processes, shadowing team members, and compiling data from various sources. You will work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to assess current programs, identify gaps, and propose areas for improvement. Additionally, you will prepare presentations and reports to communicate findings and recommendations. This opportunity will give you hands-on experience with commercial lines insurance, program assessment, and process improvement strategies.
