Job Purpose This role supports the implementation and execution of key food safety microbiological and analytical testing by performing routine quality control activities, and executing testing using approved microbiological and analytical methods to support food safety and quality. The position works on site in the laboratory and on the production floor to perform sampling for routine environmental and product testing. Essential Functions & Responsibilities Support testing completion through media preparation, quality control activities, sample collection, and execution of microbial testing on daily basis. Support and execute sanitation verification testing, shelf-life studies and other microbiological testing to verify critical limits for critical processes. Partner with internal business partners to update/maintain and improve laboratory standards and procedures. Maintain excellent records of laboratory equipment and testing performed. Perform testing, evaluate and approve microbiological test results for the Kraft Heinz network. Participate in proficiency testing program and internal laboratory audit process for internal factory laboratories. Support sanitation verification, validation of pre-requisite programs and HACCP preventive controls (cooking, formulation, etc.) through routine product and environmental sampling and testing. Remain current in scientific and regulatory principles of food safety to ensure most relevant information and emerging issues are identified and incorporated into Kraft Heinz food safety programs. Perform administrative tasks such as managing inventory, ordering of lab supplies, and data entry. Perform cross-functional communication of results with internally generated data. Other duties as assigned. Expected Experience & Required Skills Past experience performing relevant food safety or analytical science work in a laboratory required (1-3 years preferred). Knowledge and experience of GLPs (Good Laboratory Practices) required, including routine handling of BSL2 organisms. Knowledge and experience of GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) preferred. Experience with LIMS (Laboratory Management Systems) and data management preferred. Experience performing microbiology laboratory techniques and analytical chemistry procedures, including rapid test methods. Awareness of quality management systems/processes (ISO, Six Sigma etc.), especially ISO 17025 requirements. Work experience in team-oriented functions as well as individual contribution. Must be able to work assigned shift with prompt and regular attendance, weekends or overtime as needed. Strong technical, communication and organizational skills required. Detailed-oriented. Work Environment & Schedule This position is considered a Manufacturing plant environment with heavy machinery and equipment. Additionally, this role requires extended hours as needed in the lab. This is a Monday -Thursday shift starting at 5pm. The Quality Test Technician II supports the team and activities relating to quality and process improvement for the manufacturing site in Sterling, Illinois. The role requires the ability to set up lab test equipment and conduct tests on parts using provided drawings and specifications in a timely manner. Test projects and schedules must be completed according to assigned schedules to meet due dates, necessitating effective multitasking to achieve multiple results simultaneously. Progress reports and test results should be continuously maintained in a format that is clear to the recipient and approved by the QA Supervisor or Coordinator. This role works closely with Design Engineering, Quality, Production, and Materials to ensure items are manufactured in a timely manner and according to specifications. Join our Raymond Team as an Operations Manufacturing Technician! The Role: We're seeking a passionate and dedicated Operations Manufacturing Technician who brings enthusiasm and expertise to the table. In this 3rd shift role, you'll work on assignments that are moderately complex in nature, where judgment is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations. Normally receives no instruction on routine work, general instructions on new assignments. Ability to read complicated drawings, mathematics, handbook formulas, and a variety of testing and measuring instruments. What You'll Be Doing: Will be required to fabricate, assemble, machine, weld, and/or fit together parts to form complete units or subassemblies. Product is often non-repetitive and/or of customer specific design and often utilizes standard (rough) documentation and/or verbal instructions. Analyzes processes in respective area and recommend, implement improvements in quality and productivity. Works from schematics, blueprints and verbal instruction. Directs projects or leads task teams. May be required to work in complex work cells, and train employees within field of expertise. May use sampling, testing and measuring techniques, and perform quantitative and qualitative analyses to determine air, land, or water pollution levels. May assist in the installation and set-up of instruments and equipment. May operate electronic equipment and conduct sampling with the current line of instrumentation. May periodically inspect equipment and perform routine preventive maintenance work. May maintain records pertinent to special sampling projects performed in conjunction with governmental agencies and private institutions. What We're Looking For: An AA degree, military technical training, vocational or equivalent on-the-job training is required. Requires a minimum of 3 to 4 years of experience in their respective field of expertise. A high initiative, self starter, who is able to work with minimum supervision utilizing personal skills, experience, initiative and judgment to determine and implement required course of action. Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, bills of materials, schematics (electrical and hydraulic), QAPs and functional specifications. Requires a masterly knowledge of one or more assembly/welding and/or fabrication techniques, tools, test equipment, materials, machines and product. Working knowledge of the manufacturing systems and procedures, including but not specifically limited to: MRP, JP, scrap/rework, deviations, shop floor control, ECR/ECN. Effective communications skills, orally and in writing, to audiences comprised of wide skill levels. Ability to assess/define problems, collect facts, recommend/implement solutions and follow through to insure success/completion of tasks. Where and When You'll Work: This is an in-person role located at our Muscatine, IA facility-ideal for those who thrive in a hands-on, team-oriented environment. Standard working hours are 8pm - 5am. What Your Total Compensation & Benefits Package will look like: Wage - $21.84 - $27.39 per hour. Compensation depends on the selected candidate's education and experience.
