Delivery: Actively engaged in learning machine operations and apply learnings to perform work to standard.
Populate and present Daily Management System (DMS) Line Board with hourly data on production, Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE), Scrap, Safety, Quality and articulate issues and/or opportunities.
Communicate equipment performance and issues effectively during shift handoff.
Complete changeovers and cleans, including line clearance & pre-checks, following standard work.
Perform documentation and verification activities in all applicable systems (COLOS- Software package used for labeling, PeopleSoft, Systems, Applications & Products (our ERP system) Manufacturing Execution System, Trackwise and paper records) to ensure timely release.
Escalate line issues and opportunities, including initiation of Root Cause Corrective Action activities.
During maintenance calls, remain at line to provide information, support, and use the event as a learning opportunity.
Able to demonstrate proficiency of all jobs/equipment in assigned areas through certification process.
Cost: Actively engage in learning and following standard work processes and procedures.
Demonstrate an active level of curiosity to learn critical drivers of waste and line efficiency.
Understand and actively work to reduce line scrap and material usage variance.
Recognize, define and articulate importance of the following terms: waste, cost per cup and cups/ labor hour.
Respond to quality and waste issues by stopping production if necessary and escalating the issues.
Generate productivity ideas and support continuous improvement teams working on reducing waste.
Participate in and learn from Root Cause Corrective Action activities.

This position is responsible for maintaining quality control processes, testing products, and recording and analyzing results gathered to ensure products meet quality specifications. This position will support quality by performing tests of components according to safety standards, standard operating procedures, and other related standards.

Physical Requirements/Hazards:
Job requires extensive standing, stooping, or bending, lifting, reaching, twisting and turning to assemble parts. Lifting will involve fabricated parts and assemblies weighing anywhere from several pounds to 50 pounds. Parts weighing more than 50 pounds are handled with a hoist or with help from another team member.
PPE: Safety shoes, Safety glasses with side shields are always required. Other PPE such as hearing protection, gloves, safety goggles, respirators, etc. may be required depending upon the task at hand.
Qualifications:
High school diploma with 3-5 years' quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment

What is the opportunity?
Reporting to the Manager, Quality Assurance, the Quality Technician is responsible for conducting routine inspection of product fabrication throughout the process. Verifying code compliance and overseeing the quality of production at Precision Boilers, from the initial receiving of material to hydrostatic testing and final inspection prior shipping.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned.
Responsible for conducting Incoming Inspection of critical components and materials and perform verification of ASME Code material as applicable.
Performs inspection of incoming goods. documents and reports on inspection results. Notifies warehouse personnel of conforming/ acceptable product for release to inventory. For product OOS issues correspond SCAR and notify Quality Engineer.
Conduct routine inspection and applicable testing at each individual stage of the fabrication process as indicated on the traveler. This includes but is not limited to: Welding, Cabinet & Sheet metal, Electrical, Plumbing, Paint, warehouse (incoming inspection), Shipping (final inspection), etc.
Conduct regular VT inspections at each individual stage of the welding fabrication following inspection protocols.
Assist with ASME code driven examination (VT, MT, PT, RT) and related activities if/when/as needed.
Assist with creation of ASME nameplates and verify data contents are complete and correct. The same applies for all product labeling and stickers
Report nonconformances identified during routine inspection, assist with data collection and reporting via the quality gate boards and/or e-Database (ProcessMAP).
Assist in conducting internal and external inspection of all vessels prior to hydrostatic testing
Assist with collecting and reviewing all paperwork required for hydrostatic testing as needed
May be required to provide support with QMS documentation development and/or improvement.
May be required to participate in internal and/or external audits (ASME, QMS, suppliers, customer FATs).
Participates in engineering drawing feedback loop process for drawing and BOM changes as necessary to support production
May be assigned to participate in programs, projects, or initiatives as they apply to correction, prevention and/or improvement of product or process quality (e.g. Kaizen, VSM, etc.)

Reporting to the Manager, Quality Assurance, the Quality Technician is responsible for conducting routine inspection of product fabrication throughout the process. Verifying code compliance and overseeing the quality of production at Precision Boilers, from the initial receiving of material to hydrostatic testing and final inspection prior shipping.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned.
Responsible for conducting Incoming Inspection of critical components and materials and perform verification of ASME Code material as applicable.
Performs inspection of incoming goods. documents and reports on inspection results. Notifies warehouse personnel of conforming/ acceptable product for release to inventory. For product OOS issues correspond SCAR and notify Quality Engineer.
Conduct routine inspection and applicable testing at each individual stage of the fabrication process as indicated on the traveler. This includes but is not limited to: Welding, Cabinet & Sheet metal, Electrical, Plumbing, Paint, warehouse (incoming inspection), Shipping (final inspection), etc.
Conduct regular VT inspections at each individual stage of the welding fabrication following inspection protocols.
Assist with ASME code driven examination (VT, MT, PT, RT) and related activities if/when/as needed.
Assist with creation of ASME nameplates and verify data contents are complete and correct. The same applies for all product labeling and stickers
Report nonconformances identified during routine inspection, assist with data collection and reporting via the quality gate boards and/or e-Database (ProcessMAP).
Assist in conducting internal and external inspection of all vessels prior to hydrostatic testing
Assist with collecting and reviewing all paperwork required for hydrostatic testing as needed
May be required to provide support with QMS documentation development and/or improvement.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Quality Control Inspectors are certified in receipt inspection, and other disciplines as needed, to verify that structures, systems, and components conform to predetermined requirements (e.g., codes, standards, specifications, regulatory, and contractual requirements). PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Possesses and applies a comprehensive body of knowledge to the timely and high-quality completion of assigned tasks.
Perform receipt inspections at Central Receiving Facility or at Project location by examining inbound equipment and material for required characteristics (e.g., dimensional inspection, materials of construction) specified in the inspection plans and procurement documents.
Document receipt inspections using the UCOR Electronic Purchasing System (EPS) and/or on Special Receiving Inspection Reports.
Report programmatic deficiencies as Conditions Adverse to Quality (CAQ), as appropriate.
Travel to vendor/supplier locations to perform source release inspections prior to shipment to UCOR sites.
Be familiar with the scope and limitations of each discipline for which the individual is certified.
Interpret and evaluate results with respect to applicable codes, standards, drawings, and specifications.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
At a minimum, the following combination of education and experience is required.
A high school or GED diploma with three (3) years related experience in equivalent inspection or testing activities; or
An associate's degree in a related discipline plus one (1) year of related experience in equivalent inspection or testing activities; or
A bachelor's degree plus six (6) months of related experience in equivalent inspection or testing activities.

LOCATION
This full-time on-site position is located at the UCOR office in Oak Ridge, TN. UCOR is conducting major cleanup activities at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) and the Y-12 National Security Complex as well as remedial activities at the East Tennessee Technology Park (ETTP). Cleanup missions on the Oak Ridge Reservation (ORR) focus on protecting people and the environment from industrial and chemical hazards while enabling current and future science and national security programs. UCOR also leads critical projects (e.g., Outfall 200 Mercury Treatment Facility and the Environmental Management Disposal Facility) and manages nuclear operations facilities at the ORNL and Transuranic Waste Processing Center. As a DOE Voluntary Protection Star site-the highest safety designation for a DOE site-safety is a prerequisite for the performance of all work performed.
