QC Asphalt Field Technician

QC asphalt field technician will coordinate all QC testing between the paving department, our in house lab, the UDOT lab, and the third party QA/QC testing companies. Oversee the third party testing companies to ensure the proper procedures are occurring on each individual project. Will work with the paving foreman to develop specific plans and rolling patterns to help ensure compaction and smoothness. Also coordinate sampling, coring, and all scheduling in regard to the QC testing on projects.

The Quality Assurance Technician, reporting to the Food Safety Quality Assurance (FSQA) Manager, will inspect produced and procured foods to ensure adherence to company standards, regulatory body requirements, and/or both. Responsibilities include conducting tests, documenting defects, analyzing products, and monitoring procedures. This position requires the ability to stand for 8-10 hours daily in a cold environment (39°ree;F).LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:
Monitor the food production process and product by sensory, weight control, and analytical methods to maintain product consistency and comply with established specifications including color, moisture, pH, weight, size, etc.
Hold team members accountable to FSQA standards and procedures.
Evaluate all finished product for compliance
Perform and document all testing with precision and accuracy
Identify, investigate, and communicate out-of-compliance situations and product standards to leadership team and the FSQA Manager
REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Manufacturing, or related field preferred.
1+ year(s) of experience in food manufacturing production is preferred
Proficiency with computers and software (i.e. G-Suite, Slack, industry specific software, etc.)
Excellent communication, and interpersonal speaking skills
Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Able to lift, push, or pull up to twenty-five (25) pounds
Able to stand, bend, lift, and move intermittently during shifts of 8+ hours
Comfortable working in hot and cold temperature environments in kitchen, warehouse, and cooler
Must be fluent in English (verbal and written)
