Summary

Ensures all QC documentation is within ISO guidelines

Provide the necessary communications to motivate and manage quality team members
Be aware and ensure that all Team Members are performing in such a manner to meet all Customer and Companies policies and requirements
Conduct daily Quality meeting with Team Members
Track port quality trends and initiate Continuous Improvement activities as required
Support all departments in their training activities and offer assistance in preparations and securing training documents as required for ISO
Support Operations in any urgent task as requested by Quality Control Manager

Position Overview
Provide inspection, testing services, and documentation for ready mix plant facilities. Develop and maintain relationships with key customers, facility managers, DOT personnel, State, Parish, and Municipal personnel. Develop and maintain relationships with material suppliers. The Quality Control Technician will assist the company in elevating the customers' perception and general quality of our mix designs, achieving the elimination of lost loads, the generation of backup data necessary for mix optimization and overseeing the inspection process of DOT jobs.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
* Create an attitude of Safety, contribute to the safe operation of the department; maintain a safe, clean work area.
* Use accepted methods to inspect, sample, and test materials for the purpose of quality control.
* Sample and test mixtures to stay in compliance with contract specifications and quality control tolerance.
* Follow quality control plans and guidelines as assigned.

* Performs on-site surveys of fleets and facilities producing products so as to be able to identify delivery problems and recommend solutions.
* Performs physical tests on ready mix concrete aggregates, such as gradations, decants, sand equivalency, specific gravity and density, absorption.
* Monitor and test process functions and materials daily to ensure our products meet or exceed requirements of the appropriate agency or customer.
* Prepare and record accurate information; maintain test results database./ Keeps a written daily log of activities and observations.
* Obtain required certifications in a timely manner.
* Maintain all laboratory equipment, keeping track of all certification paperwork on lab scales and other equipment that requires annual re-certification.
* Follow directions of manager as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific duty.

Supervision of QC Inspectors: Provide technical direction, training, and supervision to Quality Control (QC) Inspectors to ensure the consistent and accurate execution of inspection plans, critical checks, and adherence to acceptance criteria throughout the manufacturing process.
Drive Conformance and Process Control: Achieve a high level of conformance to complex customer and regulatory specifications through the development and implementation of advanced quality control processes, including Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), control plans, detailed work instructions/standard work, systematic problem-solving (e.g., 8D), corrective action (CAPA), and rigorous process and product audits.
Technical Review and Compliance: Critically review complex Engineering Drawings, Bills of Material (BOMs), and specifications for completeness, correctness, and strict compliance with applicable industry codes (e.g., electrical, structural, fire safety) relevant to telecom, energy, and data center applications.
Continuous Improvement: Utilize comprehensive quality performance data-such as First Pass Yield (FPY), cost of quality (COQ), and warranty data-to proactively initiate and drive quality and process improvement projects across manufacturing and supply chains.
Stakeholder Communication: Clearly communicate critical quality control information, specifications, and performance metrics to all relevant internal departments, outside vendors supplying specialized components (e.g., HVAC, electrical gear), or contractors.
Training and Mentorship: Teach, coach, and train manufacturing and field service employees to understand and consistently achieve a high level of workmanship and technical compliance for specialized products.

Position Requirements:

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Create a safe workplace
Keeps work area clean and orderly and free of hazards
Assist with solving production problems
Support Engineering trials by coordinating actions, collecting information, following direction from Process Engineers
Implement continuous improvement actions
Observes functioning of installed equipment to detect hazards, problems, and the need for service, repair and/or replacement of electrical, electronic, and mechanical components.
Discusses performance issues and suggests improvement ideas with pertinent technical staff.
Assembles experimental processes according to engineering instruction, technical manuals, and knowledge of mechanical and electrical components/systems and their functions.
Recommends process changes based on data and experience.
Required to conform to change management processes.
Understands and utilizes all process related documentation appropriately
Understands and is able to trouble-shoot and assist in the repair of the processes in the respective area of responsibility.
Analyzes and interprets data to identify process related issues, support daily production, perform root cause analysis and help implement corrective actions.
Adjusts, calibrates, and aligns processes in accordance with manufacturers specification, internally generated requirements, or industry best practice.
Must support newly installed equipment and ensure system performance meets the target under actual operating conditions.

REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to read, write, and comprehend the English language (i.e., the language of all plant directives) for required document control, equipment operation, and supervisor/peer instructions.
Minimum (3) years of experience within a manufacturing environment.
Associates / Bachelors degree a Technical field (electrical, mechanical, industrial) or equivalent certification preferred.
Must be willing and able to work off shift operations as business conditions require and overtime to complete work as needed.
Must be willing to be on call and / or offer remote support to production as needs arise.
Must have computer skills, with the capability to use email, Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint with proficiency.
Must be able to prepare technical reports for documenting issues/changes to equipment.
Employee is responsible for their own work and must exercise care and compliance of all established safety procedures.
Must show initiative
Employee must adhere to company safety policies (safety shoes, glasses, etc.).
Project management experience preferred
Proven ability to work in teams
Qualifications:
Associates / Bachelors degree a Technical field (electrical, mechanical, industrial) or equivalent certification preferred.
Alternative to education - Minimum 5 years experience in a technical support role in a manufacturing environment.
