What We're Looking For:
Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. 2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred. Graduate of ARRT-approved Radiography Program, required.

Certified and registered by ARRT in Radiography and Mammography - RT(R)(M), required.
Certified and registered by ARRT in Bone Densitometry - RT(R)(M)(BD), preferred.

Responsible for the preparation, administration and documentation of contrast media per departmental protocols under the direct supervision of a radiologist/physician. Observes patient for allergic reaction after administration of contrast.
Responsible for screening of patients to be imaged for contraindications that may be hazardous to their health or to the safety of others.
Assists radiologists by evaluating patients and obtaining written screening for administration of contrast media. Start IV's and injects contrast material for imaging studies.
Maintains work habits consistent with hospital and department policies, reports unsafe conditions and incidents to the immediate supervisor and demonstrates safe work habits. Operates hospital computer systems for patient data entry and retrieval/order entry and completion of study.
Determine proper radiation exposure factors for CT to minimize patient dose according to protocols set by the radiologist. Ensures proper function of equipment by proper usage and maintenance.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care with respect to the appropriate specific chronological age, development age or social maturity of the patient.
Must have the ability to work well with others and have good communication skills. Aids in the training of new personnel, students and physicians.
Regular attendance is required and this position is considered essential for purposes of staffing during severe weather emergencies and other natural disasters.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, must have reliable transportation, and must be able to work on an on-call basis.

Ensures correct procedure is done by checking the order, calls for order clarification as needed and documents order clarification correctly.

Selects and utilizes appropriate technical factors for procedure based on body habitus, pathology, and body part while consistently positioning patient properly during procedure.
Verifies that all images obtained have crossed over successfully into Pacs and are of high quality prior to forwarding to the Radiologists for interpretation.
Demonstrates knowledge of C-Arm/Fluro equipment being used when assisting with Pain mgmt procedures.
Demonstrates thorough knowledge of imaging equipment being used, which will be listed on the Competency Skills Checklist.
Maintains attention to equipment and patient during procedure.
Maintains acceptable completion time based on the complexity of the procedure and or condition of the patient thereby demonstrating good utilization of time through productivity.
Performs all other duties as assigned.

Provides technical services in the radiology department
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Performs and maintains quality assurance of radiographic examinations
Cares for as well as operates necessary equipment
Maintains cleanliness of x-ray processor
Demonstrates proper usage of radiographic equipment within state and federal guidelines
Properly handles and maintains radiographic cassettes/ Digital Plates: consistently utilizes proper techniques and procedures, ensures protection of all CR and DR plates
Maintains cleanliness of all work areas
Maintains a supply of clean laundry: sends out all soiled laundry weekly, and assumes responsibility for receiving clean laundry; distributes clean laundry to appropriate areas
Maintains an organized file of all radiographic materials
Places orders for all supplies and equipment as needed to maintain adequate stock, utilizing principles of cost effectiveness
Pursues ongoing continuing education: maintains a current standard of knowledge and ability consistent with radiographic examinations; maintains current CPR certification; Assumes assigned responsibilities in a cooperative effort to maintain departmental quality assurance
Reviews radiographic films for diagnostic quality
Maintains a professional demeanor in stressful situations, prioritizing and performing all tasks necessary to schedule appointments and maintain records as is required by departmental procedure
