In this role, you will operate CT equipment and apply your knowledge of Radiology Information Systems, PACSs, and digital data transfer processes, under the direction of a radiologist and the supervision of a department supervisor. While this is a technical position with no supervisory responsibility, you will play a critical role in maintaining our premier level of quality, in support of a world-class clinical team. Join us. The following meet these requirements:(1) Persons employed by the Federal Government as radiologic personnel prior to the effective date of the regulation (January 13, 1986) who show evidence of current or fully satisfactory performance or certification of such from a licensed practitioner such as a doctor of medicine, osteopathy, dentistry, podiatry, or chiropractic who prescribes radiologic procedures to others.(2) Persons first employed by the Federal Government as radiologic personnel after the effective date of the regulation who (a) received training from institutions in a State or foreign jurisdiction that did not accredit training in that particular field at the time of graduation, or (b) practiced in a State or foreign jurisdiction that did not license that particular field or did not allow special eligibility to take a licensure examination for those who did not graduate from an accredited educational program, provided that such persons show evidence of training, experience, and competence as determined by OPM or the employing agency. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the full perfomance qualification requirements for GS-08 listed below: GS-08 Requirements Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing radiological examinations, to include Computerized Tomography (CT); and setting up the x-ray room or preparing or administering contrast material. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). About This Role

Perform highly sophisticated computerized axial tomographic (CT) scanning of heads and/or bodies.
Review all requests from physicians and other health care providers independently.
Maintain record of examinations performed, scans taken, contrast reactions, contrast usage, etc.

Prepare and administer contrast material (IV).

Basic Requirements for Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (Computed Tomography):
Radiology Certification: Public Law 97-35 requires that persons who administer radiologic procedures meet the credentialing standards in 42 CFR Part 75. Essentially, they must (1) have successfully completed an educational program that meets or exceeds the standards described in that regulation, and is accredited by an organization recognized by the Department of Education, and (2) be certified as radiographers in their field.
The following meet these requirements:(1) Persons employed by the Federal Government as radiologic personnel prior to the effective date of the regulation (January 13, 1986) who show evidence of current or fully satisfactory performance or certification of such from a licensed practitioner such as a doctor of medicine, osteopathy, dentistry, podiatry, or chiropractic who prescribes radiologic procedures to others.(2) Persons first employed by the Federal Government as radiologic personnel after the effective date of the regulation who (a) received training from institutions in a State or foreign jurisdiction that did not accredit training in that particular field at the time of graduation, or (b) practiced in a State or foreign jurisdiction that did not license that particular field or did not allow special eligibility to take a licensure examination for those who did not graduate from an accredited educational program, provided that such persons show evidence of training, experience, and competence as determined by OPM or the employing agency.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the full perfomance qualification requirements for GS-08 listed below:
GS-08 Requirements
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing radiological examinations, to include Computerized Tomography (CT); and setting up the x-ray room or preparing or administering contrast material. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: One and a half years of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as Diagnostic Radiology/Radiography.

This position will share on-call responsibility for X-Ray department. Will be on-call 1 night per week, 1 weekend per month. Will also work in the department during staffed hours on an as needed basis. Functions include but are not limited to patient preparation, diagnostic x-rays and performing additional tasks as directed. Must know proper operation of all equipment in your expertise and practice safety in radiation exposure. Use radiation protection on self and patients whenever possible. Be able to produce a radiograph to present for proper medical evaluation. Must maintain strictest confidentiality according to hospital and HIPAA guidelines. Must maintain effective communication with physicians, patients, department staff and other hospital employees. Must have computer skills, be able to work in order entry and work with orders to properly order and charge exams. Must treat all patients with dignity, respect and concern for their well being.
Must have a current, valid Kansas License as Radiology Technician and be registered with the ARRT. Must have or be willing to obtain BLS. Previous CT experience preferred.

X-Ray Technologist - Full Time | Weill Cornell | Multiple Shifts Available
We're seeking a dedicated X-Ray Technologist to join our team at Weill Cornell. In this full-time role, you'll operate advanced imaging equipment to produce radiographs and computer images under the guidance of a radiologist and department supervisor. While this is a technical, non-supervisory position, your expertise will be essential to delivering the highest quality care alongside a world-class clinical team.

Preferred Criteria:
Previous experience as an X-Ray Technologist in a hospital setting
Required Criteria:
High School Diploma or GED
Graduate of an approved school of radiologic technology
New York State Radiologic Technologist License
ARRT Certification

Temporary license required prior to start date. Must provide exam date. NYS Radiologic Technologist license must be obtained within six months of hire.
