Provides radiation protection (shielding / collimation) for the patient, self, and others in accordance with prescribed safety standards of ALARA (including wearing his/her film badge). Selects proper technical factors according to the size of the individual patient and produces/develops quality radiographs while using appropriate lead markers. Critiques radiographs (density/detail/contrast/positioning/markers/anatomy visible), makes technical adjustments and performs repeats as necessary. Along with the pain management team, assists during fluoroscopic procedures (i.e.: epidural steroid injections, hip aspirations). Reports equipment problems to department supervisor, office manager, and vendor. Participates in training of new employees. Maintains safe radiologic practice per standards adapted and implemented by x-ray quality assurance policies. Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.
