Redi Electric company history timeline

1925

Maker is the Knapp-Monarch Company, St Louis, Missouri, founded in 1925 as A.S. Knapp and Company, not as a manufacturer, but to sell products.

1928

The company merged with manufacturer Monarch Company of Webster City, Iowa, in 1928.

1930

Kitchen cabinetry first debuted in the 1930’s, and was improving by functionality and appearance with each decade.

1950

The new mid-1950’s concept of front loading baskets left room for a chopping board on top which was the ideal helper for any kitchen too tight on counter space.

1956

No more washing, starching, and ironing needed with a Scotkin – just use and toss out. It may seem a bit difficult nowadays to get excited about a paper napkin – but in 1956 they were indeed a source of novelty among meal planners.

About the width of a standard contemporary bookcase, the 1956 Shelvador (shelf-in-a-door!) Fresh and Frozen Food Center Twins by Crosley had the ability to hold up to 450 lbs of food and contain fresh and frozen assorted perishables in two completely separate unattached units.

When the 1956 version of the Fabulous Foodarama by Kelvinator was unveiled it was the ultimate organizer’s dream.

If you wanted to keep pace with all the latest interior design trends in 1956 you would have most definitely upgraded your kitchen sink.

In the traditional place of four burners on a stove-top Frigidaire Electric Ranges introduced a new concept in cooking equipment with their 1956 unveiling of the Imperial Range… a built in Thermizer.

1961

The first oven-style toaster (similar to this oven, that used horizontal toasting and was equipped with an oven unit for preparing frozen foods as well as for baking unfrozen foods) was introduced in 1961 by General Electric.

1969

In 1969 the company was acquired by the Hoover Company.

1982

The company was established in 1982, providing excellence in safety & industrial service for our clients.

2005

The company was established in 2005 with 70 employees through an asset purchase by Jay Anderson and Gary Condos.

From our beginnings in 2005 with 70 employees, Redi has progressed to a headcount of around 450 employees.

2006

In January 2006, the Willits City Council unanimously voted to approve the plan, which will immediately reduce the cost of utilities to the City annually.
