The typical schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Rotating weekends every 10th weekend where the RD is onsite Saturday for a full day and on call Sunday.
GENERAL SUMMARY
The RegisteredDietitian is responsible for providing clinical nutrition services including nutritional assessment, modified diet formulation, self-management training and nutrition intervention support and consultation to patients and families. This position assesses the nutritional needs of patients and develops, implements, evaluates, and documents care plans along with consistently contributing to a multidisciplinary, collaborative effort to ensure patient outcomes. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assesses the nutritional status of patients through accurate and timely documentation in medical records using parameters such as anthropomorphic measurements, nutrition-focused physical assessment, and interpretation of laboratory values.
Provides necessary consultation and teaching to participants, families, and the health team on nutrition.
Utilizes physician-referring practitioner-driven protocols or other facility-specific processes to implement, initiate or modify orders for diet or nutrition-related actions and to manage nutrition support therapies.
Maintains standards of professional nutritional care and incorporates current evidence-based research into practice.
Facilitates and participates in providing educational programs which include but not limited to lifestyle classes, and community, professional and lay audience learning events.
Orients, mentors and trains staff and interns, as applicable.
Assists with menu planning based on diets relevant to their specialty areas in collaboration with the food service management team.
Visits patients in assigned nursing unit(s).
Identifies opportunities for and contributes to the improvement of quality, safety, and patient satisfaction.
Ensures compliance with Department of Health, state, and federal nutrition regulations and standards while upholding organizational standards.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
Required Licenses and/or Certifications
RegisteredDietitian status granted by the American Dietetic Association Commission on Dietetic Registration required. Specialty certification required when applicable.
Employment in this position is contingent upon the successful completion of all required and eligible examinations or certifications related to the role. The selected candidate must obtain and provide proof of passing these examinations within six (6) months of the date of hire. Failure to meet this requirement may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or closely related field from an American Dietetic Association accredited program at an accredited college or university required.
Graduate degree is required for those who are not already registered dieticians and did not establish eligibility for the registration examination for dietitians before 12/31/2023.
Must provide record of a completed degree or academic transcript from an accredited program, college, or university at time of hire.
Continuous re-certification and/or maintenance of licensures, certifications/designations, training, educational and application requirements is required during employment.
Preferred Education and Experience
Two or more years of progressively more responsible experience with group and individual nutrition counseling among children and adolescents preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Demonstrates knowledge of nutrition principles.
Solid knowledge of dietary guidelines, dietary practices and procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines governing dietary functions.

The qualified candidate will have a basic knowledge of the principles and practices of nutrition and dietetics; of the regulations and standards governing the nutrition programs; and of the principles of supervision and program planning; demonstrated ability to perform nutritional assessment, evaluation and planning; and the ability to plan programs: coordinate with staff and interdisciplinary teams.
In addition, performing the essential functions of this position requires prolonged sitting, manual dexterity on keyboard; bending, stooping routine lifting of 50 pounds or 25% of body weight, whichever is less.
Minimum Qualifications
Completion and maintenance of the requirements for being a RegisteredDietitian (RD) as established by the Commission on Dietetic Registration, the credentialing agency for The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.(AND).
Graduate from an accredited college or university with major coursework in nutrition, dietetics or health related program.

As a Long-Term Care consulting RegisteredDietitian, you improve the lives of seniors by ensuring their meals meet high nutritional standards. You work closely with the clinical team to monitor the nutritional needs of the residents. You might be providing nutrition education, working on an MDS with the team, or formulating your nutrition assessment with input from your dining manager. With a commitment to quality, you provide guidance on all dining services, including meal rounds and sanitation best practices as well as ensuring regulatory compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations. You share your dietary expertise by training and providing guidance to dining managers and staff as well as assisting with policy development. Primary Function/General Purpose of Position
The outpatient RegisteredDietitian (RD) performs each step of the Nutrition Care Process (NCP), including patient assessment, nutrition diagnosis, nutrition intervention, monitoring and evaluation. The RD applies, participates in, or generates research to enhance clinical practice, and utilizes information technology to manage knowledge, problem solve and support decision making. The RD develops nutrition care plans and educates diverse patient populations through the application of knowledge and principles of disease management, prevention, and behavioral change. The outpatient RD provides nutrition education to the community through group classes and hospital-affiliated health fairs, wellness activities and promotions. The RD is a specialist in nutrition who is responsible for the nutritional care of patients identified as either having moderate to high risk for diabetes, or who are living with pre-diabetes or diabetes. Working in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, the RD will share expertise and knowledge of nutrient care with patients, their families, and other health care professionals. Education/Experience: Baccalaureate of Science in Nutrition from a university offering an ACEND accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics granting a bachelor's degree.
