Schedule & Compensation
Hours: 12-15 hours per week

Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments for patients at nutritional risk, following facility protocols and evidence\-based guidelines
Develop, implement, and monitor individualized care plans to support recovery and optimize patient outcomes
Provide nutrition counseling and education to patients and families, focusing on disease management, recovery, and prevention of readmissions
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other members of the care team to deliver coordinated patient\-centered care
Ensure documentation is thorough, accurate, and timely within the electronic medical record system
Monitor patient progress, reviewing labs, weights, and clinical status to adjust interventions as needed
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and serve as a nutrition resource for hospital staff
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field from an accredited program
Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian (RD\/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration
Current\/active state dietitian license (or eligibility)
Minimum of 1-3 years of recent clinical experience in acute or rehab hospital settings (required)
Experience with enteral\/parenteral nutrition strongly preferred
Strong communication, critical thinking, and time\-management skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with interdisciplinary teams

5.Reviews and edits menus as prescribed by the Diet Manual.
6.Writes and approves all therapeutic diets not defined on the cycle menu for which there are physician orders, instructs the staff on proper service of diets.
7.Visits patients periodically to evaluate the excellence of meals served, likes and dislikes, etc.
8.Monitors appropriate ordering of supplements, nourishments, snacks, and meals with the input of dietary, nursing, and therapy departments.
9.Documents on High Risk patients monthly, i.e. significant weight losses, tube feeders, and dialysis.
SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS:
1.Completion of a BS, BSHE, or BSCS as well as an internship. AP4 or equivalent thereof.
2.Successful passing of the Registration Examination for Dieticians and have current registration I.D. through the ADA Commission on Dietician Registration.
3.Possesses a valid license or certification as mandated by the state where employed.
4.Ability to communicate effectively in English through verbal and written means.

How You will Contribute
The Registered Dietitian will provide care in addressing the nutritional needs of the population of clients at Magnolia Creek in an individual and group setting.
Essential Responsibilities
Provides consultation with appropriate Magnolia Creek staff in screening client applications for the treatment program(s) based on nutritional status and making appropriate recommendations accordingly.
Conducts initial nutritional assessments with each new client, including diet history, dietary preferences, weights, nutritional risk and eating disorder behaviors.
Sets weekly schedules for the clients as it relates to nutritional needs and will have input into the individual treatment plans.
Writes orders for meal plans, supplementation, protocols and special dietary needs.
Consults with the physicians on an as needed basis to ensure that the nutritional needs of individual clients are being met.
Educates and counsels clients to increase awareness of the importance of nutritionally balanced diets in achieving good health and recovery. Formulates an individualized meal plan, nutritional care plan and set weight goals with each client.
Adjust nutrition care plans with the clients as needed. The incumbent will supervise meals/snacks and portioning as deemed necessary. S/he will provide on-going nutritional consultations to clients and their families based on individual dietary needs.
Evaluates and monitors clients compliance with their meal planning, provides grocery store education (including grocery store challenge).
Maintains contact with clients outpatient dietitian to provide updates on progress and recommendations for discharge.
Conducts nutrition group, cooking group, and physical activity groups, as well as, conducting the nutrition talk during Family Days and conduct individual weekly or twice weekly sessions with the clients.
Responsible for proper documentation and charting and ensure that all documentation is completed in a timely manner.
Approves menus and snacks for the clients and ensures that the quality and quantity of food is adequate and works closely with the dietary care specialist team in meal planning for client including food preferences and allergens.
Set up aftercare as it pertains to nutrition.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications related to Magnolia Creeks Mission and population.
Qualifications
What We're Seeking
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major in nutrition/dietetics or a related field; Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration; 1-year clinical experience with eating disorders strongly preferred; 1 plus years' experience in health-care setting, Alabama Certified Dietitian preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Deliver comprehensive nutritional support, education, and consultation services to optimize aircrew health and performance. The Dietitian shall serve as the subject matter expert in operational dietetics, contributing to the development and execution of performance nutrition curriculum, assessments, and program improvements. The Dietitian shall work closely with the Site Lead, DL, and interdisciplinary HP team to align efforts with mission goals and CRAFT requirements.
Serve as the subject matter expert in performance nutrition and provide individualized and group-based dietary guidance tailored to aircrew performance and resilience.
Develop and deliver performance nutrition content for Human Performance (HP) syllabi and related courseware; participate in interdisciplinary meetings to ensure curriculum relevance and integration. Assist with curriculum development or re-design based on expert assessment of community served as requested.
In partnership with HP staff, assess dietary habits and nutritional environments using validated tools and research to inform program delivery and adjustments.
Maintain presence in operational settings by spending at least 20% of duty hours in flying squadrons, flight rooms, or aircrew spaces to foster rapport and engagement.
Conduct educational briefings, seminars, and wellness consultations; deliver instruction using approved teaching methods and materials; give and receive continuous instructional feedback.
When appropriate, conduct clinical-level nutritional assessments, review patient records, and document findings in the MTF's electronic health record system within 72 hours of consultation.
Enter clinical and non-clinical encounters and instructional sessions into the CRAFT system of record within 72 hours; ensure documentation quality aligns with DoD guidance and program tracking needs.
Coordinate and communicate program goals, updates, and feedback with local leadership and stakeholders; support social marketing efforts to promote program initiatives.
Provide input to the Curriculum Coordinator, DL, Data team, and Site Lead on nutrition-related updates and improvements; assist in planning and presenting during the annual Aircrew Human Performance Summit and distinguished visitor tours as requested.
Participate in quarterly domain-specific sync calls and collaborate across sites to support virtual and in-person efforts at CRAFT or aircrew flying training locations without assigned Dietitians.
Stay current with industry best practices and research in performance dietetics; evaluate and recommend emerging practices or technologies to enhance nutrition programming.
Maintain all required professional credentials and licensure; sustain Medical Group credentialing and privileging.
Complete all required CRAFT compliance training and documentation, including CRAFT Program Familiarization, HPO Inappropriate Relationships and Harassment Training and Acknowledgment, DOD/DISA Information Systems Policy, social media Policy, and PII Training. Maintain records of training completion and credentialing for Government review upon request.
Perform weekly cleaning and sanitization of all nutrition-related workspaces and equipment in accordance with infection control standards as outlined by the Government medical representative.
Complete the CRAFT Dietetics Qualification Course upon onboarding; implement program guidance and instructional techniques specific to the performance nutrition domain.
After completion of the qualification course, assist in planning and presenting at this course as requested.
During PASO visits, ensure readiness of equipment and materials, conduct observed instructional sessions as normal, accept direct feedback from PASO, and implement recommendations in future activities.
Attend CRAFT Program Office all-calls and sync meetings; maintain open communication with other sites and stakeholders to ensure consistency and program cohesion.
May travel to provide direct support to other CRAFT sites, assist with aircrew TDYs, or contribute to CRAFT program expansion and continuity.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Secret clearance required.
2+ years of full-time experience as a Dietitian.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree from a program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).
National Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential.
Current certification in basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), including Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Training.
