Roles & Responsibilities: Analyze cloud usage and cost data to identify savings opportunities. Leverage a deep understanding of cloud platforms and/or application architecture to identify and implement cost savings opportunities (reserved instances, savings plans and other savings mechanisms) Implement rightsizing strategies, eliminate unused resources, and create cost control policies. Lead technical discussions with development teams and software architects to identify cost optimization opportunities in their application workloads. Monitor cost metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) for cloud FinOps, including utilization, cost savings activities, and tracking cost variance to budget. Manage the cloud forecasting process and help the organization improve accuracy for future cloud expenses. Provide visibility into cloud expenses across business units and departments and ensure that costs are shown back to the appropriate areas. Maintain cost allocation strategies including tagging, allocating new workloads and updating financial tooling. Develop financial reports and dashboards to monitor cloud usage, track spending and perform trend analysis. Implement automation tools to track and report cloud usage and costs. Use Cloud FinOps principles and tools to automate the financial management of cloud resources and provide real-time cost analysis.
