Job Summary:
Research in the Evans lab is focused on cells that line airway passages and how they affect immune defense, inflammation, infection, and chronic lung diseases. We have a dynamic group dedicated to discovery studies for conditions that include asthma, cystic fibrosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, pulmonary fibrosis, respiratory infections, and lung cancer.
The candidate hired for this position will be involved in studies of allergic asthma, and how cells produce proteins that block airways and lead to obstruction (wheezing in people with asthma). Projects will include using gene-edited mice to study genes involved in mucus production, how they affect asthma-like responses, and how cells that produce them could be targeted to develop new disease treatments. The candidate will also collaborate with others in the lab who study the diseases listed above.
Key Responsibilities:
Generate mice that will be used in studies.
Perform allergen exposures to produce asthma-like lung disease in mice.
Measure lung function and asthma-like disease in mice.
Obtain tissue specimens for histology, molecular analyses, and cell culture.
Use molecular probes and stains to label tissues and visualize these using microscopes.
Perform molecular analyses including PCR, RT-PCR, and immunoblotting.
Work Location:
Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO. Off-site work is allowed (with approval) on an as needed basis (e.g., work from home to analyze and write-up results or to perform analyses that only require computing).

Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The goal of the UNC Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention (HPDP) is to prevent chronic disease and reduce health disparities. Investigators and staff at HPDP work with communities to conduct research, provide training and translate research findings into policy and practice. Position Summary

Position Summary

The Research Associate - Software Developer will report to the Director of the Center for Environmental Modeling for Policy Development, within the Institute for the Environment. The Research Associate will support software development focused on environmental applications for air quality management. Position Summary:
University Information Services (UIS) provides technical services and enterprise applications to the University of Colorado's (CU) four campuses and the Office of the President. UIS is committed to excellence in customer service, technical expertise. Through the development of enterprise applications, UIS supports the University as a whole with systems used by students, faculty, human resources employees, finance employees, and others.
Research & Grants (R&G) IT Services supports CU's Research mission with application products and services to support Research Administration, Research Compliance and Financial Management of Sponsored Projects. These products are used by faculty, students, Campus Grants and Contracts Administration offices staff, Sponsored Project office staff and departmental research administration staff at all four campuses to manage cradle to grave Sponsored Projects administration. Products include InfoEd Electronic Research Administration (eRA) software application primarily supported by the UIS eRA team and the Grants suite of modules from PeopleSoft Financials and Supply Chain system supported primarily by the UIS Grants team.
The Principal Solutions Manager is responsible for the implementation and support of software and applications, primarily InfoEd eRA suite, that enable research compliance activities at all CU campuses. Some of the key compliance activities supported on campus include, but are not limited to, Human subjects protocol development, Human subjects IRB management, Conflict of Interest tracking and COI cycle management. This position is tasked with understanding both common and distinct business processes among the University of Colorado's four campuses and ensuring the eRA System meets all their needs.
This position reports to the Assistant Director of Electronic Research Administration and is exempt from the State of Colorado Classified Staff system.

Application Support
Execute project tasks associated with implementation, upgrade or development of new application functionality.
Assist campus stakeholders, project managers and campus module admin teams with project planning, scoping, estimating.
Gather and document requirements for enhanced system functionality to submit to vendor.
Analyze vendor manifests/release notes/system technical changes for impact to current usage of eRA for research compliance activities on campuses and to maintain knowledge of application functionality.
Reporting
Serve as the subject matter expert for all reporting against InfoEd compliance data and by extension personnel, departmental and entity data.
Develop and maintain reports from eRA systems.
Coordinate with campus stakeholders, eRA Delivery and Information Resource Management (IRM) to appropriately source data from InfoEd to the Central Information Warehouse (CIW).
Create, update, and deploy reports in the CU Data framework; identify data elements, update SQL code, and maintain tickets related to reporting needs.
Assist with gathering and documenting requirements for reports and integrations involving Profile or Compliance data and act as primary point of contact for campus report writers.
Integrations
Serve as the subject matter expert of the CITI-HCM-InfoEd integration and lead efforts to expand, edit, and maintain the integration.
Serve as the subject matter expert of the Provisioning and Authorization (P&A) processes and lead efforts to expand, edit, and maintain the established automation.
Testing & Troubleshooting
Provide tier 2 support for eRA campus module administration teams to troubleshoot eRA system problems; create supporting documents to submit in vendor ticketing system.
Coordinate the testing of software patches and testing upgrades to the eRA system as part of routine and ad-hoc release cycles; this includes creating and maintaining test plans and test scripts.
Coordinate the development of automated functional and performance testing and program automated testing using Automated Functional Testing software.
Perform system and data analysis of eRA and related compliance applications, integrations and tools.
Training & Engagement
Provide and record updates on work activities to facilitate accurate reporting of status to campus stakeholders and UIS teams.
Participate and build relationships in industry and vendor user groups to maintain knowledge of research compliance industry and to keep up with best practices relating to eRA compliance at other higher education institutions.
Develop and maintain training documentation, manuals, instructor guides, and job aids related to using, configuring and maintaining the system.
Facilitate campus and cross-campus discussions, design sessions, training on product functionality and knowledge sharing.
Secondary Responsibilities:
Assist and backup the support of Integrations against compliance data, specifically ESA integration for CITI data and the P&A process for InfoEd COI.
Assist in the creation of reports/metrics from ticketing and work tracking systems.
Assist in the creation and maintenance of eRA team procedures and process documentation.
Facilitate functional discussions for training, collaboration, and educational development.
Serve as a backup resource for campus Module Administrators when needed.
Review and maintain audit logs and exceptions/administrative reports to identify anomalies or trends.
Keep cognizant of policy changes of major sponsoring agencies as they relate to eRA compliance practices at CU.

The goal of the center is to further integrate and expand sustainability education into the curriculum offerings across all of CU Boulder's departments and degree programs, elevate the campus' baseline sustainability literacy, and develop the university as a leader in sustainability education nationally and internationally.
**What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be**
Strategic Leadership Support:
+ Partner with executive leadership, faculty, and administrators to coordinate a coherent, campus-wide sustainability portfolio, including supporting strategy development, academic collaborations, student engagement, and operational initiatives.
+ Support the design and implementation of structures that enhance collaboration across CU Boulder colleges, centers, and administrative units.
+ Assist in building and maintaining external partnerships with universities, government agencies, NGOs, corporations, foundations, and multilateral organizations.
+ Provide project management for critical initiatives that position CU Boulder as a hub for sustainability research, education, operations and community engagement and organizations at local, state, and national levels
+ Generate key performance indicators and track and report progress toward sustainability curriculum goals and initiatives.
+ Collaborate with the BSCE Director of Partnerships and Engagement (DoPE)
+ Organize/create campus wide sustainability project competitions/conferences that increase student engagement in curriculum
+ Assist in meeting with employers to create pathways to bringing students employment through project competition
+ Working with FAD and DoPE as oversight and assistance
+ Working with DoPE on key performance indicators to track and report progress toward sustainability goals and initiatives
Engagement & Academic Integration:
+ Coordinate with faculty leaders to integrate sustainability into curriculum development and support the growth of sustainability-related academic programs and student opportunities.
+ Support committees and cross-campus groups advancing sustainability and climate justice as well as future focus areas.
+ Help connect sustainability initiatives with CU Boulder's research strengths, working with institutes such as CIRES, INSTAAR, IBS, and RASEI.
+ Help connect sustainability initiatives with CU Boulder's performing arts, humanities, and other non-STEM fields.
+ Handle communication and engagement strategies to promote CU Boulder's sustainability education priorities.
+ Build, support and help maintain relationships with key external partners, including with the City of Boulder and other Colorado communities.
+ Work with FAD and the Buckley Curriculum Ambassadors (BCAs) to coordinate with faculty leaders on academic programs and student opportunities, faculty committees and student organizations
+ Coordinate with BCAs and summarize activities
+ Compile results and create summary reports
+ Liaise with FAD and BCAs
+ Collaborate with FAD in curriculum development with BCAs
+ Assist in creating certifications, micro-credentials, and seals that employers recognize in collaboration with FAD and DoPE
Operational Excellence:
+ Collaborate with the FAD to support and ensure proper integration of Indigenous knowledge and multicultural perspectives into sustainability planning, operations, and education.
+ Coordinate logistics, handle timelines, and ensure the availability of resources for successful program implementation.
+ Develop, track, and refine sustainability metrics and reporting systems (e.g.,STARS, Carnegie Elective Classification for Sustainability).
+ Data tracking, collection, reports with figures, data presentation to track and demonstrate operational excellence
+ Present results of efforts to FAD and DoPE as needed
Communications, Fundraising & Outreach:
+ Work with CU Boulder communications teams to run events, campaigns, and materials that raise visibility for sustainability leadership.
+ Collaborate with CU Strategic Relations and Communications (SRC), FAD and DoPE to create content for Instagram & other social media (e.g. LinkedIn, X/Twitter, BlueSky)
+ Draft reports, presentations, talking points, and other materials for executive leadership.
**What You Should Know**
+ The work schedule will consist of traditional business hours (8:00am-5:00pm), with occasional requests for evening and/or weekend event staffing.
+ This position is expected to work in a hybrid format with some in-person and some remote work as prioritized by the business needs of the office.
+ Once the center's physical location is established, this position is expected to provide regular, in-person staffing at the center to ensure coverage during campus regular operating hours.

The Department of Chemistry takes pride in high-quality coursework and student-centered research, led by award-winning faculty. Currently, the department has about 300 students who are pursuing BS degrees in chemistry, BS degrees in biochemistry, or MS degrees in Chemistry. Multiple certificate programs are also available at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The Principal Solutions Manager is responsible for the implementation and support of software and applications, primarily InfoEd eRA suite, that enable research compliance activities at all CU campuses. Position Summary
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.
Postdoctoral research project training opportunities are currently available at the Institute for the Environment with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. These appointments will be in the Institute's Center for Environmental Modeling and Policy Development (IE-CEMPD).
The selected candidates will work with Dr. Sarav Arunachalam in IE-CEMPD, to a) develop a new local-scale dispersion model for aircraft sources, b) develop chemical mechanism schemes for dispersion models, c) apply dispersion model approaches for air quality and health risk assessments. The candidates will work on a range of tasks including: a) Perform literature review to assess current state-of-the-art in local-scale dispersion models and assess limitations and gaps b) Develop framework for developing a new modeling system for modeling complex mix of emissions sources at an airport, with specific focus on aircraft sources c) Develop new modeling system that takes into account accurate source characterization, physical and chemical processes related to aircraft emissions during takeoff and landing activities that impact local air quality, d) Perform model evaluation by comparison with observations from field studies, e) collaborate with other stakeholders, and f) develop peer reviewed publications and project reports.
Beyond these tasks, the chosen candidates will also have an opportunity to work with other ongoing projects within IE-CEMPD in the field of emissions, air quality and climate modeling, to be mentored by the PI to lead the development of new project ideas and develop grant proposals, and provide support to junior staff / graduate students on related tasks.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences, Environmental Sciences and Engineering, Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Equivalent
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
* Background in microscale meteorology, and numerical modeling techniques with an understanding of local-scale physical and chemical processes from multiple emissions sources as represented in current models, and quantitative analysis of models and observational data using Python, Matlab, R, etc. Expertise required in developing new models, algorithms for dispersion, gas-phase chemistry and/or aerosol microphysics model.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Desired qualifications are a) atmospheric and aerosol chemistry, b) strong communication skills - written and oral, c) ability to develop/translate model algorithms and develop new model code in Fortran, d) software skills needed to work with multiple observed and model datasets, e) a strong desire/motivation to develop scientific analyses of environmental problems for decision-making in support of national and international policies, and f) ability to work in a large multi-disciplinary team environment. At least 1 - 3 years of post-graduate experience will be considered a plus.

This posting establishes a pool of candidates to fill temporary, non-tenure track lecturer positions to teach one or more undergraduate level courses as needed in the Department of Mechanical Engineering on a part-time semester-by-semester basis for SY26/26. Courses will vary from term to term. This position is paid on a per-course basis. Assignments are dependent upon student enrollments and are paid on a per course basis. There are no travel and relocation expenses available.
Lecturer
What you will do:
Teach one to three classes as assigned per term.
Prepare for each class session and deliver balanced, rigorous lessons via Canvas and Zoom in accordance with prescribed curricular objectives and outcomes.
Hold weekly office hours as appropriate per course allocation.
Assess student progress according to curricular objectives and adhere to program policies.
Record attendance and grades both online and offline, and be accessible for communication with students.
Qualifications you already possess (Minimum Qualifications)
A Master of Science degree in mechanical engineering or in a related field and industrial and/or research experience is required for teaching undergraduate level courses.
A PhD degree in mechanical engineering or related fields is required to teach graduate level courses.
A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or in a related field is required to teach undergraduate labs.
Substitution\: A combination of education and related experience may be substituted for the degree on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
For graduate level courses\: experience in higher education environment us preferred.
For undergraduate level courses\: teaching experience in higher education environment is preferred.
For undergraduate labs\: industrial experience is preferred.
