Job Description:
To support the research and development of next generation fuel cell technologies, our client is currently seeking a highly motivated candidate to fill a position as a Fuel Cell ResearchScientist.
This position is currently in one year renewal basis with anticipation of 3+ years of research opportunity.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate should have direct knowledge and experience in synthesizing electrocatalysts and fabricating MEAs/CCMs for fuel cells or PEM water electrolyzer.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Design and synthesize nano-sized PGM ORR catalysts for low-temperature fuel cells.
Conduct half-cell measurements using Rotating Disk Electrode (RDE) and full-cell testing using Membrane Electrode Assemblies (MEAs)
Perform Accelerated Stress Tests (AST) to evaluate durability, including catalyst dissolution and carbon support corrosion
Support related projects, involving water electrolysis projects, as needed.
Prepare and evaluate technical plans, reports, presentations, and proposals to support project success

Ph.D. or equivalent in in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with 4 years or more of related experience
Solid knowledge on electrocatalyst synthesis, MEA fabrication and testing for fuel cells and/or water electrolyzer
Hands-on experience on synthesis and characterization of non-PGM catalysts and/or OER catalysts is preferred

Michigan State University (MSU) is seeking an accomplished scientist to serve as Laboratory Director for the PFAS Analytical Laboratory, a unit within the MSU Center for PFAS Research. The principal duties of this laboratory-based position will be to provide administrative and technical leadership for a service analytical laboratory that performs analyses of per- and poly-fluorinated aliphatic substances (PFAS) for clients at MSU and elsewhere. The PFAS Lab currently supports multiple substantial grants and consists of two LC/triple quadrupole mass spectrometers, a combustion ion chromatography system, and assorted accessories used for sample preparation, with four current laboratory staff. Primary responsibilities of the position are:
• Provide vision, planning, and a sound business plan that will provide optimal support of PFAS-related research by investigators at MSU and external institutions and will grow with evolving needs based on coordination with an Internal Advisory Committee;
• Generate laboratory revenues through fee-for-service activities and financial support from internal and extramural sources;
• Recruit clients and raise public visibility for the Analytical Laboratory through online promotions, in-person and remote presentations with prospective clients, performing annual surveys to project client needs, and in[1]person promotion of laboratory services at appropriate events including conferences and symposia;

This is a contract position. What You Will Do: Our Client's Research Institute of North America (TRINA), located in Ann Arbor, Michigan, is the research division of Motor North America. To support the research and development of next generation fuel cell technologies, we are currently seeking a highly motivated candidate to fill a full-time position as a Fuel Cell ResearchScientist.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate should have direct knowledge and experience in synthesizing electrocatalysts and fabricating MEAs/CCMs for fuel cells or PEM water electrolyzers. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
* Design and synthesize nano-sized PGM ORR catalysts for low-temperature fuel cells.
* Conduct half-cell measurements using Rotating Disk Electrode (RDE) and full-cell testing using Membrane Electrode Assemblies (MEAs).
* Perform Accelerated Stress Tests (AST) to evaluate durability, including catalyst dissolution and carbon support corrosion.
* Support related projects, involving water electrolysis projects, as needed.
* Prepare and evaluate technical plans, reports, presentations, and proposals to support project success.
Basics:
* Ph.D. or equivalent in in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with 4 years or more of related experience.
* Solid knowledge on electrocatalyst synthesis, MEA fabrication and testing for fuel cells and/or water electrolyzers.
* Hands-on experience on synthesis and characterization of non-PGM catalysts and/or OER catalysts is preferred.
* Demonstrated ability to work efficiently within a multidisciplinary team.

Dr. Ruigang Wang's lab at Michigan State University has an immediate opening for a postdoc researcher to conduct fundamental research in the field of metal-sulfur battery. The goal of this work is aimed at advancing next-generation and sustainable metal-sulfur batteries through the development of high-performance electrode/electrolyte materials based on earth-abundant elements. The selected candidate will be responsible for performing battery electrode/electrolyte materials synthesis and characterization, including structural, chemical, and electrochemical analysis. The candidate is expected to have knowledge of state-of-the-art battery materials synthesis, characterization, fundamental electrochemistry, and various battery reaction and degradation mechanisms. The candidate should be able to analyze data, prepare manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed publications, present papers at scientific meetings, and prepare reports and presentations/papers for group meetings. The candidate will carry out innovative and hands-on independent laboratory work and collaboration across groups. This position is initially for one year, renewable annually based on performance and the availability of funding.

Toyota is looking for a Senior Scientist position in the Electronics Research Department focused on developing novel and highly effective future power conversion solutions, particularly those utilizing Wide Bandgap (WBG and/UWBG) semiconductors, for a broad range of applications and power levels.

What you'll be doing
Lead and conduct research on novel power conversion solutions for a range of applications including high power/voltage systems to low power/voltage sensors.
Investigate and propose new opto-electronic power packaging solutions possibly involving both electrical integrated circuit (EIC) and photonic integrated circuit (PIC) technology.
Develop advanced EMI mitigation techniques for high-speed power electronic converters, with a focus on WBG/UWBG semiconductor devices.
Explore the use of optically triggered semiconductor devices, leveraging expertise in semiconductor physics to optimize their performance for reduced EMI.
Conduct multiphysics (e.g., electrical, optical, thermal, mechanical) simulation and modeling of power electronics systems and packages to predict performance.
Develop and build bench-level experimental setups in-house to test and validate power conversion and/or sensor concepts.
Analyze, document, and present research findings to internal and external stakeholders.
Mentor and guide junior researchers or technical staff.
Publish research findings in high-impact journals and present at conferences.
Drive innovation by generating novel ideas and proposing new research projects.
Willingness to learn and engage in new research areas (e.g., quantum science, photonics) and apply skills to new fields is a must.
What you bring
Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related multi-disciplinary engineering field.
Experience with circuit design, simulation tools (e.g., SPICE, Simulink, MATLAB), circuit layout, and PCB fabrication.
Hands-on research, development, measurement of electronic packages with optical function integration (e.g., high speed, RF design, EMI, or analog circuit).
Exposure to semiconductor device characteristics either through practice or coursework.
Demonstrated ability to lead research projects and mentor team/lab members.
Experience in designing, building, and operating experimental setups for high-speed electronics.
Sophisticated scientific writing and history of technical presentations in conferences.
