Duties
During the course of their careers, Uniformed Division Officers carry out assignments in protection. Duties include:
Providing protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, The Main Treasury Building and Annex, and foreign diplomatic missions and embassies in the Washington, D.C. area.
Traveling in support of the Presidential, Vice Presidential, and foreign heads of state/government missions.
Enforcing mandated protective responsibilities as described under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A.
Requirements
U.S. citizenship is required.
Possess a current valid U.S. driver's license.
Be at least age 20 and less than age 37 at the time you receive a conditional offer of employment, unless you have previous service in a Federal Civilian Law Enforcement position covered by special law enforcement or firefighter retirement provisions, including early or mandatory retirement. Applicants with veteran's preference must receive a conditional offer of employment prior to reaching age 40 to continue in the application process.
Carry and use a firearm. Maintaining firearm proficiency is also mandatory.
Possess uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100 binocular. Possess corrected visual acuity of 20/20 or better in each eye.

Position Summary:

Breadth of Responsibility:
Position is responsible for assisting in the safety and protection of American Express employees, contractors, visitors and customers on company premises. During emergency situations, must be able to respond quickly and decisively while ensuring that all policies and procedures are followed to ensure the safety of others. Must remain alert for any irregularities, safety hazards, premise breaches or emergency situations and report to Global Security management for resolution.
Autonomy/Problem Solving & Decision Making:
Due to the sensitivity of working with personnel during emergency situations, ASA must be fully aware of all company/department/local law enforcement procedures for evacuations and act accordingly, sometimes on a split-second notice. Must be comfortable approaching suspicious persons to inquire into their business on the premises and following policies/procedures as defined by the situation. Communicate effectively with Global Security management the nature/details of any emergency and make "on the spot" recommendations for action.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Must be eligible to carry a firearm under H.R. 218, the "Law Enforcement Officers' Safety Act" (LEOSA).
* Must be eligible to obtain a G and D license upon starting in role.
* Law enforcement experience required.
* Proficiency in firearms usage and safety is required.
* Must be able to meet or exceed minimum proficiency and safety standards for firearms. Must meet all applicable state, county, city and local municipality licensing and permit requirements for an armed Security Officer.
* Must successfully complete an annual firearms requalification course at a Global Security approved firing range.

The City of Boynton Beach's Police Officers are responsible for maintaining peace and safety, protecting life and property, and promoting community engagement and trust for the third largest municipality in Palm Beach County with an estimated population of approximately 75,000 residents. Officers carry out these responsibilities by: patrolling an assigned area; responding to emergency calls; resolving conflicts; engaging in community policing and community relations, investigating crimes; rendering medical assistance; writing reports (using, software, computers, portable technology devices, and mobile data computers); handling crises or stressful situations, which may involve juveniles, the elderly, or the disabled; testifying in court; and enforcing Florida State laws and City Ordinances. Officers do this individually and sometimes as a member of a team, under direction of a supervisor. Position Starting Annualized Salary:
Police Officer (Certified): $76,650.00*

Certified Police Officer Incentive:

This is generalized law enforcement and public safety work in the prevention of crime, protection of life and property, and apprehension of criminal offenders.
An employee in this class of work is responsible for performing tasks of more than average difficulty involving the protection of life and property.
