Summary:

Requirements
Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen
If U.S. military experience is included as referenced experience, candidate must have a DD214 within the last 10 years as verification
May require a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (CGS-Kosovo can sponsor new clearances)
Have two (2) years' experience in armed security, armed law enforcement, or have performed operations within the Armed Forces, civilian police or commercial security while armed within the past 10 years
Must have completed a State recognized civilian security or law enforcement academy, or the completion of an armed forces security or law enforcement training program. (Verification of training, such as a training certificate/s or DD214 (honorable discharge) must be provided)
Have a current/active U.S. Passport
Be willing to undergo an NCIC/FBI criminal background report to include fingerprints. Must have a clean criminal history with no convictions or major traffic offenses
Must have experience and knowledge of security operations
Must have experience with basic force protection
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
Must be medically fit and undergo medical testing
Must pass a Physical Ability Test (to include - run 1.5 miles in 17:30 minutes and 21 pushups in two minutes). This is strictly enforced, and exceptions or waivers will not be allowed
Must be willing to undergo random drug testing upon request
Regular working hours are 48 hours per week. Due to the nature of the proposed employment, the employee may work on different schedules on different days of the week as assigned by a supervisor and may also be required to work additional hours beyond scheduled time
Physical Requirements/Working Environment:
The candidate must maintain the necessary physical fitness to ensure accomplishment of assigned missions. This includes guard duties under local types of weather and terrain. The candidate must meet all physical and medical requirements as dictated by the U.S. Government client's contract.

Job Description
To ensure safety and security of residents, staff, buildings, and grounds; respond to emergencies; performs related work.
This position is not eligible for new visa sponsorship at this time. Candidates who already hold valid U.S. work authorization may be considered.
Examples of Duties
1. Direct care support services.
* Responds to calls for assistance or lack of timely radio contact.
* Assists unit staff in calming, controlling, and restraining combative, intoxicated, and/or aggressive residents.
* Maintains surveillance of potentially volatile situations.
* Contacts local law enforcement agencies for assistance regarding potential problem situations.
* Directs and participates in searches of buildings and surrounding area both on and off campus.
* Assures timely evacuation in case of fire or other disaster.
* Prepares written reports.
* Escorts residents to and from living areas.
* May provide back-up services for living unit personnel.
* May maintain precautions to prevent runaways and unauthorized absences of residents.
* May apprehend and return runaway residents to living areas.
* May transport residents to and from area hospital, airport, or other points of origin/destination.
2. Safety and security.
* Provides for safety and security of residents and staff.
* Enforces safety and security policies and procedures.
* Patrols campus and outbuildings to prevent vandalism and detect fires.
* Patrols buildings ensuring that doors are locked and searches the facility when a door is found unlocked.
* Observes movement on campus and uses radio to advise of disturbances or suspicious occurrences.
* Assures that no one is in restricted areas.
* Reports safety hazards.
* Conducts searches for contraband.
* Investigates vandalism and theft.
* Checks and logs security lights.
* Reports mechanical malfunctions.
* Confronts unauthorized visitors and may make arrests.
* May patrol parking lots, enforce speed limits on institution grounds and issue citations.
* May make minor emergency maintenance repairs to ensure safety.
* May check the steam pressure and water level in the boilers.
Minimum Qualifications
Good knowledge of:
* Building security procedures.
Experience:
* Applying fire and life safety hazards.
* Evaluating and handling disturbances and security emergencies reading, applying, and following written and oral instructions.
* Writing business reports, investigative reports, or detailed documentation.
* Typing or using a keyboard.
Specialty Requirements
These positions at ISU require:
* Valid driver's license.
* Current firearms qualifications or the ability to become qualified within 30 days of hire date.
* Current less lethal qualifications or the ability to become qualified within 30 days of hire date.
* Certified Police Officer, graduate from attending a Law Enforcement Academy Program, or Military Police.

The anticipated compensation rate for this role is between $17.25 and $19.01 per hour, depending on education and experience.
