SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direction of an experienced Kohler Co. Security Supervisor, and within defined timeframes, a Security Officer I - Second Shift is:
* Responsible for the protection, safeguarding, and security of personnel, customers, visitors, and assets.
* Responsible for monitoring and authorizing entrance and departure of associates, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of the premises.
* Responsible for greeting visitors in person in order to provide assistance or refer to an appropriate company representative.
* Responsible for operating a multi-channel radio with multiple frequencies.
* Responsible for observing and reporting all suspicious activity or policy violations.
* Responsible for managing the access control requirements in a manner that ensures the highest level of security in an efficient manner.
* Responsible for accurately understanding various transmissions, (e.g. telephone, radio, etc.) and transcribe information (e.g. numbers, letters, names and facts) from one source to another in a timely manner.
* Responsible for deterring crime by providing a general security presence.
* Responsible for developing an operating knowledge of Kohler security and fire systems and able to respond appropriately.
* Responsible for assisting with special assignments during periods of emergency or as requested by management.
* Responsible for providing transportation services with company vehicles as needed.
* Responsible for achieving and maintaining required certification in CPR, First Aid, fire extinguisher, etc.
* Responsible for acting as a security and safety resource to other departments and local emergency services as dictated.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
* The minimum physical requirements of Security Officers include:
* The ability to transport emergency medical equipment, such as medical bags and oxygen equipment, weighing approximately 50 pounds, from a vehicle to the scene of the emergency and appropriately utilize equipment at the scene.
* The ability to ascend and descend fixed or portable ladders to access roof and other areas in the event of an emergency.
* The ability to be certified and correctly perform CPR, unassisted, as defined by the American Heart Association and operate an automatic external defibrillator.
* Be able to provide verbal instructions, in an emergency situation in a clear and intelligible manner.
* The ability to legally operate a passenger automobile or light truck.

Summary of duties for a Patrol Officer
* Respond to all emergency and non-emergency calls from the MSOE community and the public requesting assistance and/or police, fire, medical or other emergency services
* Determine the nature and location of the emergency, determine priorities, and direct Public Safety Patrol Officers or other emergency personnel as necessary in accordance with established procedures
* Enforce all University rules and regulations

Be aware of current and upcoming events at the Zoo. Provide accurate and helpful information to guests requesting information or assistance. Be aware of information resources if not personally aware of the information requested from a Zoo guest.
Educate our guests on the Zoo's policies on smoking, service animals, carry-ins, alcohol, admission, parking, prohibited items and behaviors. Assure guest compliance with the involved policy, procedure and work rule. Set the example by assuring personal compliance with established Zoo policies, procedures and work rules.
Provide documentation and monitoring of incoming traffic before and after Zoo operating hours. Assist Visitor Services with traffic direction as needed during open hours. Assist vendors and contractors with access to the proper locations within the Zoo. Assist emergency service and public safety responders with entry to and egress from the Zoo.
Complete Daily Activity Reports (DAR), Milwaukee County Injury-Illness-Accident-Loss Reports, Video Review Requests, and all other reports as required by the Security Supervisor or Zoo Manager.
Ensure the locking and securing of both the interior and exterior gates on Zoo grounds, as directed or required by policy. Effectively communicate in both written and verbal formats of all pertinent information in a timely manner to the Zoo switchboard.
Assist in locating children and adults who become displaced from each other, ensuring safety with proper identification of both the child and adult. This includes persons with cognitive disabilities and physical concerns.
Review Zoo issued ID badges for entry to the Zoo. Ensure non-paying guests conform to the Zoo Admissions Work Procedure and are issued a Visitor's Pass.
Assess developing situations on Zoo grounds and request the proper law enforcement services if an on-duty Milwaukee County Sheriff's Deputy is not on the grounds. If an on-duty Milwaukee County Sheriff's Deputy is on the grounds, assist as requested by the deputy.
Minimum Requirements:
Current Resident of Wisconsin.
Valid Driver's License required and must be maintained throughout employment.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Two (2) years or more of experience in Law Enforcement, Corrections or Private Security.
Preferred - Actively pursuing or have already completed a Criminal Justice degree.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and vigilant Security Specialist to oversee the safety and security of our properties. Key Responsibilities:
Camera Monitoring: Continuously monitor and analyze live footage from surveillance cameras to detect any suspicious activity or potential threats.
Incident Investigation: Respond promptly to security incidents, investigate breaches or suspicious activities, document findings, and provide detailed reports to management.
Property Surveillance & Security: Perform regular property patrols to ensure physical security, checking for security vulnerabilities, unauthorized access, and ensuring all security systems are operational.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Proven experience in a security or surveillance role.
Strong understanding of security technologies, including CCTV systems, access control, and alarm systems.
Excellent observational and investigative skills, with the ability to assess and respond to situations quickly and effectively.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and documentation purposes.
