Responsibilities
Summary:
The Air Detention Officer serves as a part of a security crew providing charter aircraft services and is responsible for ensuring the general security and safety of all noncitizen and crew when on-board the aircraft. The security of all areas as required by the appropriate procedures and checklists mustbe always maintained.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The Air Detention Officer loads and unloads noncitizen onto and off the aircraft (including those handicapped and/or requiring special assistance); searches noncitizen for contraband; feeds the noncitizen during flight; and escorts the noncitizen to the restroom.
Applies restraints and removes them as applicable.
Identifies proper documentation.
Searches the aircraft for contraband and assists in post flight cabin cleanup.
Loads and unloads property onto and off the aircraft.
Assists with perimeter security as requested.
Maintains checklists and checkpoints throughout the assigned shift.
The Air Detention Officer takes charge of post by securing and protecting personnel and property until properly relieved.
Reports all violations of orders.
Sounds the alarm in case of disorder or emergency.
Reports unusual events that threaten the security of the aircraft or endangers life or property.
Takes reasonable counteraction to save life and property or lessen danger.
Provides for embarkation and debarkation security as required at each Port of Call.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Must be a United States citizen residing in the U.S. and able to obtain visas and inoculations required to permit departure from and entry into the US and all scheduled destinations.
High school diploma or equivalent certification required.
Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
Must posses an active, valid United States passport.
A minimum of one (1) year of full-time experience as a corrections/detention officer within the United States; OR one (1) year of full-time law enforcement experience while employed by a United States federal, state, city or municipality law enforcement entity, or the United States Military; OR one (1) year full-time employment as a security guard with a state issued guard card within the last six (6) months.
Must be certified as a Security Officer in the state where the work is to be performed and maintain the certification.
Must be capable of lifting fifty (50) lbs.
Must be able to write detailed written reports and forms.
Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Ability to be physically alert on any shift that is assigned
Ability to successfully complete all requiring training and certifications.

Duties and Responsibilities
As the first, first responders, State Law Enforcement Dispatchers, also known as Community Service Officers, are non-sworn communications professionals who serve as the vital link between the public and law enforcement and are crucial to maintaining the safety and welfare of the public and law enforcement officers. Salary
$42,936.60 annually (Includes base rate of pay of $37,936.80 plus $4,999.80 Competitive Market Pay (CMP). The salary listed includes the base annual salary of $37,936.80 and a Competitive Market Pay (CMP) salary additive in the amount of $416.65 monthly ($4,999.80 Annually). In order to receive CMP you must live and work in an Eligible County.

* 15% shift differential pay additive if working the evening shift

Training Provided
New State Law Enforcement Dispatchers will participate in a four-month training program. The program is a mixture of classroom and on-the-job training and is structured in five phases: Orientation/Basic Introduction; Call Taking; Radio; Combining Call Taking & Radio; and Shadowing.
The agency has developed a 911 Public Safety Telecommunicator (PST) training curriculum that has been certified by the Florida Department of Health as meeting our exceeding minimum training standards. This curriculum has been incorporated into the overall training program for new State Law Enforcement Dispatchers. Upon completion of the curriculum, an application will be submitted for the member to take the 911 PST exam. The cost of the exam will be covered for members.

Job Related Requirements
* Must be willing and able to work rotating days and shifts to ensure coverage 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, including weekends and holidays.

Job Summary:
The Largo Police Department is accepting applications for FDLE Certified Police Officers and/or Out-of-State Certified Officers who will have completed EOT and State exam, or those who will complete the Police Academy and pass the State certified exam. This is general duty police work in the enforcement of laws and ordinances. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
* Sixty (60) semester credit hours from an accredited college or university. Accredited college, university, or community college" means a college, university, or community college that has been accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, another regional accrediting agency, the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools, or an accrediting agency or association that is recognized by the database created and maintained by the United States Department of Education. The 60 credit hours will be waived for applicants with at least two years of prior sworn law enforcement or corrections experience, or two years of active military duty.
* Ability to successfully obtain a Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) Certification. Applicants certified in other States must meet compliance standards as enumerated in Florida Statute 943.13.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Ability to understand the principles and practices of police work and to understand and enforce laws and ordinances

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The Air Detention Officer serves as a part of a security crew providing charter aircraft services and is responsible for ensuring the general security and safety of all noncitizen and crew when on-board the aircraft. The Campus Security Officer will be responsible for supporting the security operations within assigned areas of a boarding school campus and sports training destination that spans over 400 developed acres. Responsibilities Safety Leadership: Proactively patrol campus property for up to 8 hours, ensuring all areas are secure, identifying maintenance needs, and addressing unsafe conditions.
Access Control: Screen and authorize visitors, vehicles, and guests entering the property to maintain campus security.
Student Accountability: Monitor student entry and departure to ensure safety and proper accountability.
Emergency Response: Swiftly respond to emergencies and security-related calls, providing first aid/CPR/AED when necessary.
Incident Reporting: Investigate incidents, maintain detailed reports, and log all safety concerns with professionalism and care.
Policy Enforcement: Collaborate with Student Life to uphold campus rules and policies as they apply to students.
Team Contribution: Attend daily briefings, arrive on-time and in-uniform, and keep all Campus Safety posts clean and orderly.
Process Improvements: Identify areas for enhancement in safety procedures and share ideas with supervisors.

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid Florida Driver's License or the ability to obtain one
Fluent in English with strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Completion of D-license training within 6 months of hire
Proficiency with strong Microsoft Office and willingness to learn proprietary systems
Must maintain composure and objectivity while in stressful, high-pressure situations
Preferred
Associate degree or higher
Experience in security, law enforcement, or military service
Bilingual - English and Spanish
First aid/CPR/AED certified
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Ability to lift, carry, move, push and pull equipment or boxes up to 40lbs
Ability to stand and walk for duration of shift
Ability to handle outdoor temperatures for a reasonable period of time.
Ability to work on various indoor and outdoor surfaces including grass, turf, courts, etc. in all weather
Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
Must be able to operate office equipment such as computers
Ability to flexible hours including days, nights, weekends and holidays as needed
