    Johnson Service Group (JSG) is recruiting for a, Senior SmartPlant 3D (SP3D) Designer for a 12-month contract assignment. This position will prepare 3D designs associated with Department of Defense projects at Hill Air Force Base in Ogden, UT. This onsite role offers a W2 hourly base rate up to $90.00/hour with time and a half for overtime, per diem, and mobilization / demobilization. U.S. Citizenship Is Required. Education / Experience: Associate Degree in Engineering or Certificate in 3D CAD design. 10+ years of relevant work experience. 5+ years of experience using SmartPlant 3D design software. Previous DoD/DoE, USACE, NAVFAC, or USAF experience highly preferred. Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, and piping codes. Knowledge & application of International Building Code, ASME B31.3 for piping, plumbing codes, and ASHRAE standards. Must be able to pass the requirements to receive a secret clearance. Major Responsibilities Building layout in Smart Plant (SP3D) model environment. Modeling of piping, HVAC, and equipment in the 3D model environment. Preparation of drawings/documents for floor plans. Assist with coordination of 3D model activities, (i.e. input, interference reconciliation, etc.) with other physical related disciplines. Interface with pipe stress and pipe support engineers, construction, and suppliers during the preparation of designs for the purpose of model/space control, etc. Perform coordination review of specifications and other documents prepared by others. Plans, develops, coordinates, and reviews design work within a small-size Plant Design and Piping (PD&P) design work group. Produces drawings and documentation in accordance with established design and scope including foundation design and steel detailing. Ensures PD&P systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards. Coordinates and interfaces as directed with the day-to-day technical work of PD&P engineers, scientists, specialists, designers, and drafters. Communicates complex technical issues and recommends solutions to upper management. Facilitates technical discussions with third parties (client, suppliers, regulators). Prepares or oversees the preparation of PD&P design estimates and work plan in accordance with project scope, schedule and budget, and manages implementation and performance accordingly.
