Core Engineering plays a central role in making that possible. About the Role We are hiring a Principal Engineer to own and guide the technical direction of our core backend systems. This is a hands-on design and leadership role for an engineer operating at true principal scope. Systems are expected to be secure by default, resistant to misuse, and explicit about trust boundaries. Security is treated as a core design constraint alongside correctness, performance, and maintainability. While this role carries architectural authority, success depends on collaboration. You will work closely with other engineers, as well as product and security partners, to drive clarity, build shared understanding, and raise the quality bar across the organization. This role requires comfort with ambiguity, steady judgment under pressure, and the ability to balance long-term system health with near-term delivery. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and are committed to providing reasonable accommodations where applicable. Preferred Qualifications Deep Python experience, including FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, or comparable frameworks Strong experience with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL Track record of improving system safety through backward-compatible changes, safer migrations, and incremental rollouts #LI-MEH1 #hybrid #nashville #engineering
