- Demonstrates strong leadership qualities, is a role model for the QA team and exceeds Peet's key performance standards by adhering to Peet's employee guidelines.
- Coordinates the work of the QA department often with other departments to meet customer requirements.
- Supervises team of department QA/QC techs in the QA Manager's absence and ensures the QA team meets or exceeds Peet's Quality, Safety and Food Safety standards. Informs QA Manager of employee performance opportunities or any other topics that require attention (ie. software, equipment, process improvement).
- Attends daily shift meetings and all weekly meetings that require QA representation such as, but not limited to, daily huddles, inventory and material holds
- Helps develop and ensure a pleasant and productive work environment.
- Ensures department tasks are done accurately and in a safe, timely fashion.
- Assists in on-boarding new, temporary, or seasonal employees.
- Monitors lab supply levels and reports to QA Manager.
- Oversees departmental housekeeping efforts to ensure compliance with internal as well as AIB food safety standards.
- Ensures safety and sanitation standards are met through compliance with plant Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Supports and demonstrates innovative behaviors by providing and identifying opportunities to improve that drives continuous improvement ideas that helps increase efficiency in day-to-day activities
- Makes a proactive contribution in dept/plant intentions and projects
- Mastery of departmental operations, procedures, and policies.
- Ability to influence change within the team in attempts to develop people and efficiency in overall operation.
- Attention to detail and the ability to enforce/uphold standards.
- Excellent communication skills and a demonstrated history of consistently good performance at Peet's.
- Ability to work with computers for accurate word processing, data entry, and basic spreadsheets.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, make recommendations, and draw conclusions.
- Orientation towards teamwork and an ability to lead and supervise a group of people.
- Forklift certifiable and ability to follow strict safety guidelines.
- PCQI and HACCP Certification is desired
