The LCSW is responsible for conducting comprehensive diagnostic evaluations including clinical interviews and administering the standardized assessment tool, ADOS-2 and administering and ADIR for children suspected to have autism. This role includes direct administration of the assessment with the learner, engaging with families throughout the diagnostic process, and completing high-quality written reports that support accurate and timely diagnosis.
You make your own schedule, and work can be done remotely, except the ADOS appointment does need to be conducted at our Kalamazoo East center. Position requires LCSW to complete a minimum of 1 assessment per week with report writing (approx. 10 hours).
Key Responsibilities:
Assessment Administration
Conduct assessments using standardized tools such ADOS-2
Score assessments and document results in diagnostic reports Ensure fidelity to standardized procedures and maintain calibration with best practices
Family Engagement
Meet with families before, during, and after assessments to gather history, provide education, and explain next steps, if applicable
Maintain professionalism and empathy in all interactions, ensuring families feel informed and supported
Report Writing & Documentation
Complete detailed diagnostic reports summarizing assessment results and diagnostic considerations
Ensure documentation is accurate, thorough, and submitted in a timely manner
Collaborate with clinical team members to integrate multidisciplinary input when applicable
Collaboration & Compliance
Attend team meetings, case reviews, supervision, and training sessions
Maintain compliance with HIPAA, company policies, and ethical standards of care
Keep up to date on relevant diagnostic tools and continuing education in autism spectrum disorders
Qualifications:
Master's Degree, with associated Licensure, in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Applied Behavior Analysis, or related field
Current Michigan license
Certified with administering the autism diagnostic tool ADOS-2 and ADIR
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Position Summary: Assist with the management of child protective services to promote family stability and reunification and provide services in areas such as protective services, foster care, adoption, delinquency, and foster home licensing. Work closely with the Director of Social Services to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective solutions for all child protection aspects of the organization adhering to the Child Protection Code of the Pokagon Band Children's Protection Code as applicable to the Department of social Services and Tribal Court proceedings.
Essential Functions:
Provide leadership and consultation to the Tribal Government and Social Services Director in all areas of child protective services, policies, and programs. Establish and implement short- and long-range program goals, objectives, policies, and procedures in alignment with the Pokagon Band's Vision, Mission, Expected Outcomes and Strategic Initiatives and compliance with the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA).
Serve as monitoring agent, services coordinator, and liaison between service providers and State/Provincial Case Managers. Serve as Pokagon Band representative and contact person for State and Tribal service providers in development of service plans, provision of services and reporting of progress in all cases in Tribal Court and State Court. Present case information to the Family Welfare Commission and advocate for the Tribe through the General Counsel's office and the attorneys representing the Tribe.
Provide information and facts and collaborate with Legal counsel in developing stance taken by Social Services on behalf of the Tribe in child protection and child welfare cases coming before the courts.
Represent the Social Services Department in child welfare proceedings in State Courts in person and by phone. Respond to inquiries requested under the ICWA regarding citizenship or eligibility for Band enrollment. Initiate interventions when a notice involves pending court action on a Pokagon child.
Compile data and other relevant information from Tribal service providers, caregivers, and the Family Welfare Commission, and develop reports for Director of Social Services and the Courts and advise in decision making meetings with the State and Tribe
Develop and maintain service plans and case materials as identified by the Bureau of Indian Affairs 638 Contract as required for continued funding of Social Services Programs.
Provide and coordinate social services and assistance to improve the social and psychological functioning of children and their families and to maximize the family well-being and the functioning of children. Monitor Pokagon Band children placed out of the home, consult with children, parents, caregivers and others involved in the provision of services,
Train and educate staff and State workers and Court workers in Indian Child Welfare Act.

Position Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Child Welfare, Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, Family Services, or related field. Four (4) years of previous work experience in social work and child welfare required.

SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Social Worker is responsible for the implementation of social work services for the patient/family/caregiver from the time of admission through the date of discharge, transfer, or death. The Social Worker is a member of the Interdisciplinary Team and provides interventions to meet the psychosocial needs of the patient/family/caregiver.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Provides psychosocial assessment, brief therapy, crisis intervention, education, and planning with patient/families caregivers to promote optimal functioning as they are coping with living with a terminal illness. Additionally, the Social Worker assists with the Comprehensive Assessment for each patient, conducts an Initial Bereavement Risk Assessment, and determines potential needs for the bereaved following the death of the patient.
Interventions include education and counseling to the patient/family/caregiver related to adjustments to illness or terminal prognosis, anticipatory grief, stress, care giving concerns, environmental and financial needs, coping mechanisms, and other issues as identified in the patient's Plan of Care.

SUMMARY
Provides direct in-home services to families substantiated for child abuse and neglect, who have been referred by Children's Protective Services workers and Foster Care workers from the Department of Human Services. Services are directed at keeping the family intact and preventing foster care placement of children.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities associated with this job will change from time to time according to the Agency's needs or contract. More specifically, the incumbent may be required to perform additional and/or different responsibilities from those described below:
Provides intensive in-home services for 2 client families at a time, providing 4-6 weeks of service, averaging 10 hours of face-to-face service per family per week.
Writes Service Plans, Progress Reports, and a Termination Report for every 14 days of service provision.
Writes time sheets and case notes and complete other documentation on all cases.
Expends Specific Assistance monies by use of an agency credit card and checkbook.
Attends Families First of Michigan trainings and other agency trainings as required.
Provides 24/7 emergency availability for the 2 client families on this specialist's own caseload.
May occasionally works some non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends).
Transports clients as needed.
Teaches families parenting skills, coping skills, and skills for living.
Collaborates with DHS referring workers and foster care workers.
Functions as part of a Families First team in weekly meetings and other activities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
Must be able to transport clients in employee-provided vehicle; must have a valid driver's license, auto insurance and driving record in alignment with agency policies.
Positions may require prolonged sitting, standing and use of fingers. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Required:
Bachelor's Degree in any Human Service field or education from an accredited institution OR
Must have at least two years' experience working with children and/or families and an Associate degree or the equivalent (60 credit hours) in human services or education and be actively working towards a Bachelor's degree in human services or education to be completed within one year of hire.
Preferred:
Master's degree in social work, Psychology, or Counseling from an accredited institution.
Lived experience with behavioral health issues.
Experience working with families is highly preferred.
Salary Description $18.00 to $20.00
