As a Software Engineering Manager - Manager Level 1 located in Morrisville, NC, you'll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one within the Eastern Region Engineering Management Team. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work. The manager will be responsible for helping to provide technical oversight and directly contribute to the entire software development lifecycle to include design, development, integration, test, and maintenance. Additionally, the manager will lead and guide a matrixed functional team of approximately 10-15 software and systems engineers through technical processes, career development, and performance appraisals. The software manager will also participate in proposal generation, staffing allocations, and recruitment. The candidate should have previous or current experience in leading and coordinating a team through challenging software system lifecycle activities. Excellent communication skills (oral and written), and the ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in collaborating and leading technical teams. The candidate will have a track record as an effective communicator and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The candidate must also demonstrate a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while adopting new and emerging ways of doing business.
