This School Psychologist will provide counseling services to students on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and to the regular student population (treating mood disorders, autism, anxiety, depression, ADHD, social skill deficits, conduct disorders) to foster positive coping strategies, motivation, and skill development. Responsibilities will include conducting psychological assessments and evaluations to identify students' needs and strengths, developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and 504 Plans, provide individual and group counseling to students to address emotional and behavioral issue. They will collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to create supportive learning environments, provide crisis intervention and support for students and staff as needed. Join WIHD's growing Speech Clinic and Assistive Technology Team! WIHD is currently seeking Full-Time and Part-Time SpeechLanguagePathologists (CCC-SLP) who will provide Speech services to individuals of all ages and disabilities through information and resources, evaluations, training, and therapeutic interventions. Our goal is to provide clinical services to optimize an individuals ability to communicate. Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC) experience is preferred but if you are will, WIHD will provide training in AAC.
This SLP position is in person at our outpatient clinic in Valhalla and in local schools. Full Time positions work 35 hours per week and receive 4 weeks vacation and part time positions can work 21-28 hours per week and will receive 3 weeks vacation. Salary is commensurate upon experience.
The responsibilities include performing diagnostic evaluations and managing a therapy caseload of a diverse population of children and adults with developmental disabilities who are diagnosed with communication disorders. Therapy is conducted via a hybrid model of teletherapy and in clinic sessions, school-based trainings, and home-based therapy.
Major Responsibilities Include:
Performs and documents evaluations, diagnoses and develop rehabilitation plans for patients with swallowing and/or dysphagia, cognitive linguist and communication disorders / impairments.
Provision of SpeechLanguage/AAC diagnostic services, trainings, initial consultations, equipment demonstrations and technical support to people who use AAC, family members, service providers, and regional school districts, writing reports to justify devices
Establishes and implements long-term and short-term therapy goals, treatment strategies and methods for groups and individuals to aid in the treatment/remediation of the impairment and measure progress.
Counsels patients and members of patients families/caregivers regarding the patients disability, therapeutic approaches and class placement for school-age children.
Provides clinical supervision, training and evaluation of professional staff, and graduate students in implementing program objectives.
Research new devices and technology, therapeutic approaches and evaluation materials as well as referral services and funding sources.

Education, Knowledge, and Skill Requirements:

Maintains ongoing communications and recommendations with family and referral sources, (e.g. physician, school, etc.) regarding evaluation, treatment and patient progress.

Who We Need
We are currently seeking a full-time SpeechLanguagePathologist for our Educational Learning Experience program in New Windsor, NY, serving students pre-school -21 years of age.
Schedule: Monday- Friday 8:30am-4:00 pm, 35 hours per week, 48 weeks per year (which includes a 6-week summer program)
Annual Salary: $65,271.20 - $66,271.20 a year
Responsibilities:
Initial evaluation/periodic re-evaluation
Program planning and implementation of program
Scheduling of caseload in conjunction with classroom staff and other related services
Coordination of program between student, counselor/teacher and case manager
Maintain interdisciplinary communications regarding program
Report at team meetings and or annual reviews as needed.

Perform related work as assigned by program Directors
If licensed, may supervise staff speechpathologist participating in Clinical Fellowship year.
Assists in maintenance of treatment sites
Provides departmental/staff in services when indicated.
Provides list of needed therapy materials to Program Director
May participate in Feeding Team or Augmentative Communication Team when appropriate.
Must have a current NYS driver's license, free of moving violations *Amendable to Class E) deemed acceptable by our insurance carrier

Completion of Master's Degree Program from an accredited College/University.
Licensed by NYS Department of Education as a SpeechPathologist.
